was playing a bit of manhunt before bed last night, and I was literally moving through this level (light work tbh), died a few times and got stuck at this part for a bit.

the moment where I got caught off guard was when I banged my weapon against the bench and the guy was just standing there, I expected him to move, so I thought moving back would trigger him to move, because he was just standing there, and then 3 more come running to me because they see the guy attacking me, I was genuinely so confused as to why he didn't move that I did not see the other ones LOL, and it took them like, 3 seconds to attack me after standing, that I just stood there.

A new petition to stop Sony from stopping their disc production has been rising in popularity, with over 150K signatures

The petition wants to keep physical media alive and let people own their products

“A box with only a download code is not the same thing. It is a digital license in plastic packaging.

You do not own it.

You are renting access that can be revoked, and people have already had purchased movies deleted from their libraries and games pulled from sale weeks after launch.”

“This is also about jobs. Physical games support an entire industry that an all-digital future quietly erases: retailers, distributors, manufacturers, warehousing and logistics, the pre-owned and trade-in market, and the collector and preservation community.

That is thousands of jobs and countless small businesses. Ending physical media removes consumer choice, weakens local economies, and hands a few platform holders total control over how, and whether, you can access the games you buy.”

Don't Kill the Disc: Tell Sony to Keep Physical PlayStation Games

In summary, they’ve announced starting in 2028, they’re deciding to stop releasing physical disc-games. making all the future games you purchase digital library only — therefore instead of purchasing a physical copy, you’re purchasing a digital license connected to your account which depends on sony’s platform. you do not have ownership over digital games the way you do a physical disc. correct me if i’m wrong, but I believe this goes for all playstations and all playstation games you’ve purchased from the digital store.

for people that aren’t financially privileged — (even middle class) — this takes away one of the only affordable options — tons of people buy games online, but most I know cannot afford to buy every game or console brand new. there are people, myself included, who rely on used games because the price for new releases can’t be justified. for most you’re lucky if you get a singular game a year. that’s how expensive it’s become. by removing modern physical media, you’re also taking options away from kids who get their games at the library, from friends who trade games, and all types of people with different financial states — who rely on physical media to make it somewhat affordable.

digital libraries aren’t bad, but we cannot survive in a world that is purely digital-based, it is not yet possible. If went this direction with all games, movies, and forms of media — searching for old dvds, discs, cds, and other physical forms would come out of necessity if you want to permanent access to the media you paid for. they’re removing permanence as an option for the less fortunate.

a phsyical-disc game that could’ve been forty dollarz used can become hundreds if the only option is buying a new console and paying the full price digitally.

I mention price-based issues when it comes to this, but there’s more problems that don’t revolve around finances.

I recommend you do your own research. this is my understanding of it.
