I went through my order histories and compiled a small directory of shops selling affordable doll accessories (mostly shoes, wigs, eyes) on Taobao that I've gotten nice stuff from - maybe it's useful for some other hobbyists, too? I'll try to add to it every once and a while as I encounter anything worth a mention. Do note that this is just a very non-comprehensive list of shops and not a tutorial or guide; it does not include dolls or doll companies.

Sitting here stewing on my thoughts about this situation and GOD I'M SO ANNOYED.

This is not a situation I am new to seeing. I have seen so many sites and projects just up and disappear because some motherfucker never makes a back-up plan for their team (when they have one).

And it just.........it never fails to blow my mind. You're the owner of a major hub of the English-speaking portion of the community with a huge array of historical information about these dolls........and you've been inactive in managing it for YEARS.....and you just never think that hey, maybe the TWO mods still keeping things going as best they can might need extra access to the back-end portion of the site?

using paper napkins for decoupage has also made me a superfan of william morris. his designs have so many elements going on i could make five completely different dolls from a single one. the patterns on this bunny are from the strawberry thief, pictured below.

wake up babe, new teapot animal variant just dropped!

this little unicorn's patterns are paper napkin decoupage + supplemental handpainting, and she's been gloss varnished to look more like porcelain. she may also finally be the perfect size; still smaller than a real teapot, but a little more substantial and also much less maddening to string than the previous variants. available on my store now.

robot girls robot girls more rrobot girls.

the inspiration for this one started with a medieval headdress in a movie. i thought the shape was interesting, and might work well for a robot. as i was sculpting, i ended up also using the shapes of a corset & puffy sleeves for the body.

she is printed in a translucent filament for an ethereal vibe, and the only paints i used were white and chrome. the filigree patterns are stickers i cut up, combined, and glued onto the body.
