i was having a little bit of an art block > wanted to do something unusual to break it. this robot was inspired by going through my box of Trash With Good Shapes, wherein i found a plastic gachapon capsule i built it around.

the upper body is ball-jointed and glued to the capsule, but the legs are magnetic and can move freely along its surface. these robot projects sure do eat magnets, but i've been having fun experimenting.

please note the bottoms of the feet have paw pads.

it's not quite spring yet where i live, but it's getting there. hence i made some seasonal lil buds. they're about 12cm tall, the head sprout included, so very tiny very precious.

i thought i might make her a third alt head with no snake tongue, but she is curious, actually, and will be tasting the air forevermore. her skin is a bit too shiny and i'd like to give it a blast of mr super clear, but it is -20 outside for the foreseeable future -> no chance of that atm. anyway, i'm very happy with her, and especially with how well she can balance upright on the tail.

PEAK is a game where you make a little guy and try to climb a mountain. partner & i have been playing it a bit, and these are our little guys, pea [my partner's] and grape [mine]. i didn't want to sew clothes in a scale this tiny, so they're dressed in various pieces from our doll clothing stash.

wake up babe, new teapot animal variant just dropped!

this little unicorn's patterns are paper napkin decoupage + supplemental handpainting, and she's been gloss varnished to look more like porcelain. she may also finally be the perfect size; still smaller than a real teapot, but a little more substantial and also much less maddening to string than the previous variants. available on my store now.

another older project i finished recently. i started this at the same time as my wasp, and was about 80% finished, but then she was stuck in Desk Hell for several months.

the face & hands are my sculpts, but the rest of the robot is made of thrifted toy parts, trinkets, and beads.

this thing has been rolling around on my desk since summer & i have painted it four or five times to try and get it right. finally succeeded, and here they are.

the bases the chest joints connect to are glued to the hourglass with epoxy, but otherwise the doll? sculpture? is strung with elastic, and i can take it apart like a regular bjd. as you can see, the moon & sun sides can either face in the same or separate directions.

the idea for the sculpt is legit just my brain getting stuck on the expression "hourglass waist" and immediately conjuring up this rpg boss.

i was debating between painting a fake light source/shadows on her, or leaving her completely blank, and decided on blank. i feel like it's and ethereal & slightly unreal look. her candle holder corset should have swirly details, but my printer is having trouble with small raised patterns atm, so i printed this version blank.

Bro I fucking love the DB Cooper case nothing about this whole situation sounds real. None of the passengers on the plane realized they were being hijacked until the plane landed two hours after it was supposed to and the fbi showed up with suitcases full of money. The note about the bomb almost went unnoticed because the flight attendant thought she was being sexually harassed so she didn't read it. One of the main suspects was the first trans woman in Washington to have a sex change operation. A reporter who was so dead set on his suspect that he brought him to court was so upset about being wrong that he went catatonic and was treated with electroshock therapy and it WORKED. There's been multiple "I'm DB Cooper" death confessions. He never even SAID his name was DB Cooper. Either he got away with a million bucks in today's money and the most iconic and harmless crime American history or he impaled himself on a pine tree while falling a zillion miles an hour in the dark while clutching duffel bags full of cash and either option is equally hilarious. He wore a clip on tie. He committed an act of sky piracy. What in the fucking looney toons
