Goblin: The Lonely and Great God - Yoo Deok Hwa (Sungjae) Appreciation Post
we no longer have to see each other in secret […] now i can be open about how much i like you.
Final Thoughts on Goblin: The Lonely and Great God
Despite the mixed reactions/reviews I am seeing for Goblin’s ending, I still stand by my word that this is definitely the best Korean drama for me, so far.
I loved everything in this drama: the aesthetics, the genre, the soundtrack, the plot twists, the comedic and heart wrenching scenes, and of course… the bromance.
The only things I will point out as cons of the drama were the horrible product placements and some very, very minor plot holes along the way (which do not ruin the entire story, no worries!). But seriously, I stopped counting how many presents were given during the last two episodes for PPL.. and please, let’s not even get started with (the sandwich everyone eats) Subway.
ANYWAY. Back to my points.. I was a total mess during the last two episodes. All the good byes and deaths had me hugging tightly my pillow and wetting it with tears.
I know most people are like “Why did Eun Tak even have to die? I want a happy ending for them!” To be honest, that scene was actually heart warming for me. The whole idea of death that is not announced because it is the sole choice of the person making it – a sacrifice. It somehow restored my faith in humanity because true enough, sacrifices like what Eun Tak made really happen irl.
I was a bit disappointed that Yu Deokhwa didn’t have a proper closure (maybe being a successful and responsible CEO… or something close to that). Maybe, Yook Sungjae was too busy with all the Gayo Daejuns and award shows he had to attend with BToB (plus, their upcoming concert... yayy!).
Overall, I am satisfied with the ending even with all the questions (What will happen to Kim Shin once Eun Tak reaches her 4th life? Why is Kim Shin still a Goblin? Did Wang Yeo and Kim Sun drink the tea? …and many more) but in the end, I decided to just accept the story as it is, and appreciate the effort put into making it the best possible way it can be.
Hats off to writer Kim Eun Sook and PD Lee Eung Book. Consider me a fan!
Kudos to the whole cast! Gong Yoo, Lee Dong Wook, Kim Go Eun, and Yoo In Na did beyond justice to give life to these complex characters. They did so well in making their viewers laugh out loud at their antics, and cry their hearts out sympathizing with them. Congratulations to my forever baby crush, Yook Sungjae, for landing another great project, yook deserve it! ❤
To end this off, this is a drama I wouldn’t mind watching all over again, and definitely a drama I recommend! 👍
Hi I just saw your old posts when we you were travelling in Korea. Im just wondering if you are planning to visit Korea again?
Hi! I hope my answer is not yet too late.
The last time I went to Korea was June 2016. I have already now booked a flight back to Korea this August 2017. :)
After that ending you guys, I’m just going to remember the happy times. T_T

“There will be two CDs in the album, one for songs and the other for instrumentals. Gong Yoo’s narrations will also be included. In addition, there will also be a photo book containing still cuts of the drama and never-before-released photos. The album cover will also feature a lenticular design that presents different images when viewed from different angles.
The album will be available in two versions, which differ by the lenticular images on the cover, and the scenes featured in the flip book.”
HOW CAN THEY EVEN COME UP WITH THE RELEASE OF TWO VERSIONS OF THE ALBUM.
