Harris WIttels was a very funny writer and comedian who died last Friday. He was behind many of my favorite things: Don’t Stop or We’ll Die, Parks and Recreation, Eastbound and Down. Not to mention being amazingly charming on podcasts.

When I went to LA  I was lucky enough to meet him. I told him I was a big fan of Don’t Stop or We’ll Die and he was like “really?” because they are a relatively small group and I was a tourist from Australia. He went back stage and got the other two band members, so I got to talk to the whole band.

I know it’s silly to feel sad about losing someone I didn’t know very well or at all really. But he bought so much joy to so many people and it’s very sad to think he’s not around anymore.
