Stems for @gospelmultitracks. "Hero" by Kirk Franklin. I recorded this in Cubase back in 2006. @marqman on drums and my aunty Val and the famm on vocals. I pulled the files into @presonus #StudioOne. Needless to say in a matter of minutes I was able to tighten everything and redo the mix and it sounds 100 times better. #limitless #bestDAWever

I put this clip together just to show how proud I am of this dude @bhill1024. Of course what you're hearing is what he actually played on the record. What you see is him at rehearsal. At any rate this dude worked HARD. He didn't rely on his "go to" chops, neither did he bank on the "convention" talk of other cats swelling head up with pretentious compliments. He shut down, shut in, and worked, shed, and was meticulous about seasoning himself for this live session. He didn't just learn the tunes. He wanted to specifically adapt himself to playing with ME and the rest of the band. He didn't get upset when I told him a specific chop didn't work or was cheesy. He immediately dug deeper. His pocket......unbelievable. He did whatever it took to make the record gel musically. If a musical component he offered didn't compliment the chemistry, he changed it!!!! He requested my true honesty about his contribution to the record so that he could sharpen himself. We became closer brothers through this. We lost sleep, got sick, irritated, you name it. But he came through on this record. And he's continuing to raise his bar everytime he plays. Good chops and runs don't make you record material. Get around people that drive you to be better. Lounging around people that are always telling how great you are can blur the vision of where you're really at.
