Star-crossed
this won’t get 1% of the women’s version of this post.
the world we live in, and people in general don’t care about men. we are pretty much robots who aren’t allowed to show emotion. we’re taught from a young age that boys don’t cry.
fact is women are sexualised, men are idealised. because men can’t be raped because they’re big and strong right? right? yea, pretty much the idiots view of living.
Always reblog
Sks support this idea or unfollow me i dont give 3 shits if i loose yall as followers, fuck off if you dont support this
you can unfollow me if you think that Men don’t have stigmas against them or get sexualized or are told they have to live up to a standard.
Women are not the only ones who can be victims of sexual assault!
Always ALWAYS reblog! This is really close to home for me as most of my followers well know!! Men can be victims just as well as women, and the illusion that ‘Its different for a man because he can defend himself’ is complete and utter bullshit.
Men, your existence is a good thing.
Trans men, you deserve to be believed about your experiences. I wish you gender euphoria like you've never felt before.
Disabled men, you are valuable just the way you are. I wish you lack of guilt for the things you can't do.
Men of color, whatever culture(s) you belong to are beautiful things. I wish you pride in who you are.
Fat men, you deserve happiness. I wish you comfort in your bodies.
Queer men, you are an inspiration. I wish you peace and safety.
Men who fit into multiple of these categories and/or belong to any minority I didn't list, you're very cool, and I hope you're having a wonderful day.
Men who don't fit into any of these categories, you are wonderful, and you are just as worthy of love as anyone else.
gavin free never fails to make me laugh
It’s so rare seeing memes that praise men and boys so here are two nice ones.
Reblog if men are pretty and valid to you

Pray for Tonga 😭
Thinking of all my Pacific friends and whānau right now, sending so much love 😭💔💔💔 please message me if you find a link we can donate to (not the Red Cross or any missionary agencies) and I'll add some as soon as they are available
Guys Tonga is underwater. The tsunami swept through everywhere, the highest point on the main island of Tongatapu is just 28 meters above sea level. All power and communications have been cut off so we don't even know what's going on anymore, but at last report the sky is black and raining ash and acid rain. The water is undrinkable because of the acid. People can't breathe because of the ash. The entire island of 'Atata has gone underwater 😭
The explosion shook homes in Alaska, over 9500 km away. The tsunami has gone through the entire Pacific but nowhere has been affected as badly as Tonga. And no one outside the Pacific seems to be talking about it 😥
Some good donation links!!!
Hi All, Pita Taufatofua, the Tongan Flag Bearer here. As you all know a large … Pita Taufatofua needs your support for Tonga Tsunami relief
Please consider donating to support Friends of Tonga's active projects and programs.
And an update:
[Image: a tweet from Anaseini Ulakai @fineutuvai reading "Latest Update Tsunami warning still in force, volcanic activities at ease. PM announced that gas stations, bakeries and shops will be open from 10am-2pm for ppl to get necessities. Settlements along Vuna Road from Sopu to Fasi & Maufanga heavily damaged. Source: British High Com." The timestamp is 12:35 16 Jan 22.]
Mōrena everyone, I woke up and I'm blown away by the attention that this has received! I'm a very small blog so this is quite surprising. Thank you to everyone who's spread the word and donated.
A few things! Some people said that the GoFundMe link wasn't working for them. Hopefully this one will! If not then you can google "gofundme pita taufatofua" and it's the first link that comes up.
Although communications are still extremely limited and only over satellite phone, the news that we've received so far is mostly positive! The main reason for the loss of communications is because of damage to the underwater communication cables. It's not clear at this point when this could be fixed.
There are no reports of serious injuries or fatalities at the moment, although some people are missing. There's also no word yet from the Ha'apai islands and the Tongan government is aiming to send a boat out there today if the still unstable sea currents allow. Incidentally, the man running the fundraiser above is the son of the Governor of Ha'apai. He's still waiting to hear what's happened to his family and home islands.
The volcanic activity has largely died down, although there are still tsunami warnings in place and the significant amount of ash and acid in the air is causing a lot of difficulties. Because of the ash, the government has urged all citizens to remain inside and wear masks.
(Weren't they already wearing masks, I hear people ask? No. Tonga shut its borders early in the pandemic, and despite the economic blow, it is COVID free. There has only been one case in Tonga and they have since recovered.)
I've also had people ask where they can get updates. The best places are the OneNews live update stream, although as of now (7:46 am 17 Jan, NZT) the stream hasn't started up again for the day yet. However, it has almost all of the information that we've been able to gather over the last few days.
If you're on twitter I also recommend following Aotearoa-based Tongan reporter Anaseini Ulakai @fineutuvai. If you want to know what's going on with Pita Taufatofua and his family, he is on twitter at @pitaTofua.
If you're interested in the science of the eruption and the scale of it, this is the best article I have so far.
Volcanologist Professor Shane Cronin said scenes on the ground would have appeared apocalyptic after the eruption.
Even after the initial crisis is over, Tonga is still going to be in serious trouble. The water and agriculture is going to be devastated in already low income country, which is also facing the rising threat of climate change.
Tongans are known for their friendliness, resilience, and generosity. Despite 1 in 5 Tongans living below the poverty line, in 2010 they raised over $700 000 NZD to help after the Christchurch earthquake and in 2011 they raised $300 000 NZD after the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. I hope that we can give even a little bit of that back.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022!
Hello! Im pretty new to sewing and I dont have access to a sewing machine, do you have any tips for sizing up some denim cut off shorts?
Sewing denim by hand
When it comes to upsizing shorts, these posts might come in handy:
How to upsize clothes
How to upsize a pair of pants
Project: letting out a pair of pants
Lengthening shorts
Hand-sewing denim:
You can sew denim by hand, but it takes some patience. Good quality denim is a sturdy, thick fabric. Do yourself a favour and get a large long sharp needle and strong thread. Using the right needle will make this task a lot easier!
Check out my post on hand sewing stitches if you're unsure about what stitches to use. If you're adding fabric to a garment, you'll likely need a backstitch to sew your fabric together and a blanket stitch to finish off your raw edges. Knowing how to baste might also come in handy. If you're new to sewing, practice on an easier fabric first before you tackle jeans (e.g. cotton or other thin, non-slippery fabrics).
Don't forget to prewash your shorts if they've never been washed before. Some jeans are coated with certain products to make them look nice when displayed in a shop. This coating will wash away, which can alter how your denim feels, looks and hangs.
If you’re planning to make a habit of sewing thick fabrics like denim by hand, I’d recommend getting a thimble. I’ve heard that the metal thimbles are sized but, tbh, I have no idea how the sizing works.
I made myself a thimble out of scrap leather:
1. Get thee some scrap leather. Prime places to look: old, worn out shoes or purses in your closet or in a secondhand shop.
2. Get thee scissors, a piece of scrap wood, a thin nail, a hammer, a needle, and sturdy thread.
3. Cut out a piece of leather that will fit comfortably around the finger you will use to push the needle from the back (it may be your thumb, middle finger, whatever is most comfortable for you).
4. Lay out the thimble pieces on the scrap wood and use the nail and hammer to carefully punch holes for the thread to go through (just little taps with the hammer will work, no need to smash your fingers). No, you can’t skip this step, sewing leather with just a regular needle is hell and I do not recommend.
5. Use the needle and thread to sew through the holes you punched with the nail, around the thimble.
6. Try it on again for size, and away you sew!
Thank you for sharing these instructions! Thimbles help a lot, indeed.
