YOUR ART IS NOT AWFUL  

Art is 10% talent and 90% work. Your art isn’t bad. You’re still learning. You’re still developing. If you continue drawing for a long period of time, take a drawing from something a month ago and compare it to the present. You probably improved. 

Like everything, the more you practice at something, the better/experienced you will be. Don’t quit when you’ve only just begun.

Basically there are many times where concept art can’t be translated 100% faithfully because 2D and 3D are entirely different beasts. See: any of Blizzard’s concept art and live games.

And sometimes when you don’t make those concessions, you can get weird uncanny results in 3D depending on how it’s being rendered. See: Heavy Rain.
