I just need to vent for a second
This week has been absolute hell for me.
I’ve been experiencing near constant abdominal pain since August of last year. I’ve been in and out of work on FMLA because of it. Nobody knows what the hell is wrong with me. They just rule it off as IBS. I’m having surgery done on February 3rd to see if it’s maybe Endometriosis. If it’s not that, then I have no ide what to do at this point.
But back to this past week. Tuesday afternoon, I went to the ER because I was at a solid 8 on the pain scale. I don’t know how I made it there. I drove the 40 minutes to go to the hospital my doctors are affiliated, by myself, in the rain - because I’m a fucking idiot. And, after spending a few hours there, they just told me that I’m very constipated, stop taking my pain killers, go home and take an enema and some magnesium citrate (which they use for when you’re having a colonoscopy). So, I did that. Wednesday, I slept a lot, pooped a lot, and was able to eat. Thursday, all hell breaks loose when I wake up at noon. I wake up nauseous (nothing out of the ordinary for me). I take some zofran and go about getting ready to work (because I need to at least fucking try). Thirty minutes later, I’m using the restroom (having dreaded liquid poops) and then I puke up at least a gallon worth of liquid and the taquitos I ate for dinner the previous night. Alright, well, not working today then. I clean myself up, sip some water, call out, and go lay down. Over the next four hours, I’m sipping water, feeling even more nauseous, and sleeping as much as I can. 2:30 rolls around, I roll over and puke again. This time it’s just bile and it hurts so fucking much as I heave and heave until I feel like it’s all out. Again, I clean myself (and the floor) up, sip some water, and lay back down after taking my temperature. It was 99.0′F, which isn’t too high, so I go back to bed. My fiance gets home from work, asks how I am, etc. I ask him to just let me rest. He goes out to help the neighbor with something a little while later. I get up to use the restroom. The nausea is threatening vomiting again. I take my temp. 100.6′F. Welp, time to go back to the ER (the doctors recommended that I come back if my temp reaches anywhere above 100.4′F or if I’m having persistent vomiting). So, I have my fiance take me this time, because at this point, I’m way too nauseous and delirious to drive myself. I make it through the 40 minute drive without throwing up (go me). As soon as I walk up to the desk and ask for a vomit bag in the ER though, I puke. And I puke, and I puke. They get me back to triage pretty quickly because well, I’m puking, I’m clearly ill. I have to wait for ages for them to actually stick me to draw blood or do an IV. Guy did a piss poor job of sticking me for an IV too. -3-; They had to do an EKG because my heart rate was 146. They hooked me up to an IV bag and set me down in a recliner for a few hours. It took ages for the IV to drain in to me though because of how bad the guy stuck me. They got me a bed in the hallway of the ER after a few hours so I could lay down. Then they proceeded to check me for sepsis. X-rayed my belly. Ran more bloodwork. My sugar, when I arrived, was apparently 199, which is VERY high for me, despite me being diabetic, especially when I hadn’t eaten anything at all that day. I was apparently severely dehydrated. They ended up giving me three 1L saline bags. After I was able to prove I could keep some water down (at three am), they sent me home.
Friday, I basically spent asleep. I’d wake up here and there to go to the bathroom and drink half a bottle of 20oz sugar free powerade or some water, and go back to sleep. I didn’t bother trying to eat, or take meds, or any of that. I just needed to keep hydrated and rest - which some people don’t seem to understand is an achievement in itself.
I have bipolar disorder leaning heavily on the depressive side. I get depressed easily despite my medication. In combination of being in constant pain, not wanting to get out of bed, or leave my house (because I work from home like a fucking moron), I am spiraling very out of control with my depression. It is literally a struggle to take care of myself right now (e.g. bathing, hydration, etc.). I don’t like the fact that I’m not able to accomplish these basic things, but my fiance, who doesn’t experience depression or pain in the same ways that I do, does not understand why I’m not taking care of myself. I want to. But I don’t feel like I can most days. I just want to sleep (which is odd because I also suffer from insomnia on most nights). He doesn’t understand why I don’t take my medicine, or why it’s a struggle for me to even get up and fill up my water bottle. I don’t know how to articulate to him that I feel like I can’t. I don’t want him to think I’m making excuses, because it feels like I am to myself. He’s been very tactless with dealing with me the last few days. I know he’s frustrated. He’s a I-need-to-fix-this-now kind of person, and I am not a person that can be fixed in an instant. I don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t have a therapist, and even if I did, I don’t have the money to pay for it. I haven’t been able to work more than half a shift in months. I’m trying not to use all my PTO because we’re supposed to get married this year and I was trying to save some for our honeymoon and wedding. I don’t even want to do the wedding anymore because of how much I’m suffering. I’m trying not to show him how much it hurts me when he says he’s frustrated. I understand. I’m not perfect. But I don’t want to be a burden to him, and I feel like I am right now. Maybe I should just move back in with my dad, or just leave or something. I don’t want to hurt him anymore because I can’t take care of myself. I can’t afford to leave though. He’s not hurting me physically, and he’s not being abusive emotionally, he’s just tactless and doesn’t know how to deal with someone as broken as I am.
Maybe I should have him take me off the mortgage and I can go live with my dad again. Maybe I should break up with him so I stop hurting him because I’m useless. I’d hate to leave him. I love him so much. But I’m getting tired of being a burden and I don’t want him to suffer because I am.

A breakdown of the Death Star fight and why Rey stabbed Ben
Took me a while to figure this out, so maybe I’m late to the party but if not, hear me out.
At a first view, I didn’t really understand why Rey would stab Ben when he’s most vulnerable (he’s not even looking and he has dropped his saber) making herself look like a coward and so OOC, especially because soon after she cries over him and heals him.
BUT! The whole sequence on the Death Star had several details that I just didn’t seem to understand, and once I put all of them together I realized everything might be connected to The Stab ™.
First of all, it starts on the Falcon after the revelation that Rey is a Palpatine. I don’t have footage of that, but Rey is seemingly talking to herself and she looks hypnotized. She says something like “he (Palpatine) killed my mother. And my father. I’m gonna destroy him”. Finn is there and he goes “this is not like you, Rey” and indeed it is not. But Rey says the infamous line “everything keeps telling me that they know me, but no one does.” and the convo ends at that.
Fast forward to Endor and the DS wreckage. She enters the throne room and finds the sith wayfinder and Dark Rey in a side-room hidden behind a wall that opens as soon as she stops in front of it. Dark Rey tells her not to be afraid of who she is, they fight, and Dark Rey shows pointy teeth and tries to bite her (it may look ridiculous but remember the pointy teeth for later). Rey falls behind and out of the room, the door closes, the sith wayfinder rolls on the ground until Kylo takes it.
Yep, Kylo’s there and Rey jerks up in an unnatural way.
From this point on, she looks rigid and completely out of it (and if you watched the movie and saw how much Ben changed when he got rid of the dark side, how he suddenly wasn’t rigid or controlled anymore, you might get a sense where this is going).
Kylo tries to convince her that the dark side is in their nature, but Rey doesn’t really seem to listen as she only demands he gives the wayfinder back. But the way she demands it… is creepy, to say the least. She speaks in hissing whispers and her eyes are wide and fixed.
Kylo destroys it and she snaps. She screams and she immediately attacks him with all she has. They bring the battle outside, where she keeps being very aggressive and keeps showing her teeth in more than one instance (remember Dark Rey?).
But then, at some point, she starts looking like she has no idea what she’s doing or why she’s there? She looks exhausted and confused to say the least.
Rey and Ben are equals in the Force, that’s why their battle could go on forever, but somehow, Rey starts losing? She doesn’t even look convinced of what she’s doing.
What point I’m trying to make? Rey is possessed by the dark side, but she’s fighting it. That’s why she starts aggressive, but then starts to crumble. She has an inner fight going on, but she can’t really get rid of the influence of the dark side, until…
Leia calls out to Ben, he’s distracted. He drops his weapon. Rey takes it and stabs him. At the same time, Leia dies, seemingly giving her energy to Ben (but this is for another meta).
As soon as this happens, Rey snaps out of it. She’s herself again. She looks down and sees what she’s done to Ben.
She proceeds to heal him and she looks like she’s extremely guilty for what she’s done. I’m not sure he knows what happened to her, but I would say he does understand something. I’m speculating maybe they were both influenced by the dark side since the Death Star might be one of those places where the Dark Side is very strong.
In this moment, Rey realizes she’s a danger to herself and others. Her dark side can take over any moment and make her do horrible things. That’s why she runs away, but not before telling Kylo that indeed, she wanted to take his hand. But Ben’s hand. Which leaves him speechless (but again, this is for another meta).
She jumps on Kylo’s fighter and you can see her processing (looks at how she shakes her head) what has just happened and making one final decision (to isolate herself on Ach-To).
That’s it! It bugged me that Rey would just kill Ben in cold blood like that and then suddenly act like she didn’t know what she was doing, so I put some thought into it. The problem with this movie is that everything is skimmed over so you don’t really get a sense of anything when you first watch it.
Let’s talk about that last scene.

This has been bugging me.
So, Rey put in all of that work to craft and mold herself an entirely new lightsaber at the end of the movie. For what? To play with on Tatooine? To show Finn and Poe back at the Resistance base? I don’t believe it, and I don’t get it. She made it for a reason. Yes, technically she hasn’t had her own lightsaber up until this point, but why wait until THE END of the movie to make it/reveal it? Was it just some cheap fan service? She was training with Leia for a year...why not do it then? She made it for a reason. She made it for the greatest adventure of her life.
I hope that we can see that gorgeous new lightsaber in action...when she’s going on an adventure to find her soulmate, force-mate, space boyfriend, and true love, Ben Solo.
He’s not gone.
