genuinely one of my favourite details about Bram Stokers Dracula that isn't really transferred to the pop culture is that vampires have irridescent eyes, they appear brown at a glance, however when light is reflected on them they seem to go red!
another thing that pop culture latched onto is this idea that you might use a wreath of garlic bulbs to ward off a vampire, however, in the book there is a popular use of garlic blossoms rather than the bulbs. i think these are a lot prettier and way more versatile for stylisation! you could have a garlic flower crown.
also like the cowboy part can we please stop omitting the fact that there is a real ass cowboy in Bram Stokers Dracula and hes from real ass Texas and he has a fucking gun and he tries to fucking shoot Dracula

Shining, shimmering, splendid.
Cradling his cheek in one hand, he fixes you with a half-lidded look. The look a princess wears when she’s daydreaming of some far-off fantasy. His guard lowered, delight dances in his dark eyes.
This, you realize, must be something he’s put a lot of time into, only to have no one to speak of it with. He’s been waiting for this.
“I’d like to live like the common man for a day. I’d wear street clothes, and my partner would too. I’d tell them they look so beautiful, and they’d tell me that I look so normal. Not like a prince, but like myself. Like Minajael.
“We’d take public transit—the bus, probably—using those plastic cards that you easily lose and have to load up every week or so. When we get off, I’d offer my hand and help them off.
“We’ve decided on a movie ahead of time, but we get to the theater early anyway. We take our time browsing the movie posters and snacks, playfully argue about what flavors of popcorn and soda to get.”
“Have you never been to a movie theater before?”
“Not a public one. We have a private theater built into the palace, but… It gets lonely when it’s just you, the tiger, and the attendants around. You miss out on that candid experience of watching with others. Their laughs and screams would be real.”
Minajael closes his eyes and continues. You wonder if he’s painting a scene in his head, the sensations he has yet to taste for himself.
“The movie’s finished, but the popcorn hasn’t filled our stomachs. We’d hit up a fast food joint, or one of a convenience store where you can prepare your own instant ramen on the spot. I’ve always wanted to try one of those. Dipping fries in ice-cream, smushing down the burger that looks nothing like how it does in the advertisements, slurping up noodles spiked in MSG, food dye, and Radiant Seven knows what else.”
You make a face. “You… want to put microplastics in your body?”
“Why not?" He shrugs. "You only live once. Might as well while you still can.”
Risk taker, thrill seeker. You wouldn’t expect it from a prince, of all things.
“Okay, uh, what’s next on the ideal date schedule?”
“We’d spend the rest of the day at an arcade. Play the games, earn tickets, exchange them for prizes. If they have crane games, I’d try to win a plushie for my date so they can have something physical to remember the day by.
“Then we’d take the bus back and I’d walk them home. We’d look at the stars and make excuses to linger for longer and longer, until the time to part ways finally arrives. It’s the saddest part of the date, the farewells.”
“Hmm, I’m noticing pattern here. Are you a fan of dark places with bright lights and loud sounds?”
“Haha, maybe it’s a byproduct of coming up in the Scalding Sands. We have the a big fireworks festival every year. That’d be fun to show a partner, too.”
“It sounds like something you’ve been thinking about a lot. You make everything sound so… magical.”
“Don’t most people think about spending time with someone they love with all their heart?” He counters you so naturally, so strongly, it nearly throws you off. “That’s a special kind of magic.”
“It’s not everyday when I hear someone preach the value of love,” you mutter under your breath.
The conversation fizzles out like a sparkler run down to the last of its line. Dark quiet seeps in.
“… Sounds silly, doesn’t it?” Minajael’s question is soft, as if he’s soothing a sleepy child. “You’re probably thinking something like, ‘no way would that happen, a love like that’s impossible’.”
“Night Raven College mentality,” you say quickly, shaking your head. "It's corrupting me."
"Hah! I can see it."
"They're terrible influences," you groan, “but even with the devils on my shoulder, I don’t think your dream's silly or impossible. In fact, it’s nice. I hope you can make it come true someday.”
Surprise briefly crosses his features. He chuckles, casting his lashes downward. “… Yeah, someday. And hey, if that someday's not anytime soon--"

What are your thoughts on those 'fandom confessional' blogs? I have seen one that is only posting ai accusations and hate speech against certain groups under the cover of being a 'confessional'.
it’s just blatant harassment and it’s one of the reasons why fandom space becomes toxic and why more and more writers/artists stop sharing their works.
There are some saying that malleus and Lilia aren’t father and son because malleus called Lilia a friend.
Yes, but in context, think about it.
He wanted Lilia to talk to him and console him. And who does that in malleus eyes? A friend.
Malleus did that with prefect.
Malleus wants to be close to lilia so he used friend because Lilia even hid it from malleus and silver many secrets.
(Kids can be friends with their parents at times btw)
He wanted Lilia to be closer to him so he chose the word friend because if he couldn’t say it directly as a father son then maybe as friend it would be easier
Even Lilia was shocked about it.
Also let’s not forget, malleus is barely able to express himself now.
Of course he would have trouble saying his true feelings.
It took a horn breaking to say “I love you” to lilia.
He is still learning to express himself and he’s thinking about silver too.
Silver at that point didn’t get his name yet and he’s also being considerate to silvers feelings who he adores.
Malleus would put silver first before him before anyone.
Malleus is probably also hesitating on expressing himself too. It’s all new to him.
He also thought Lilia was leaving because of him. How can he refer to him as a father??
Why else do you think Lilia was shocked? As I said before, just because they don’t say it outright doesn’t mean they aren't father and son.
Lilia took care and loved malleus and vice versa. They are still learning and loving each other.
Their love is complex and they are learning to express it themselves.
Lilia is probably was gloomy for a bit afterwards but he knows it will take malleus time to express himself and his feelings.
Malleus is kind so he’d always put others first before him.
He was being considerate of Lilia and silver.
Lilia is also learning what it means to be a father and have that title. Letting go of past mistakes and anger.
It was easy enough with silver because he saw him every day, and now with the truth out, he needs to learn wirh malleus too.
About accepting himself and his relationships with malleus and silver.
They’ll always be father and son and love each other.
