I literally listen to this song a few times a week. Especially in the gym. Like I don't know what it is, but this song makes me smile. Because it's rough, but spirited...just like me. Representation is motivating. This album, since middle school has been one of my FAVORITES. I knew I wanted to see New York one day because of how rappers like Prodigy's spoke it to me. I ended up living and staying here. My baby is from Queens. Thank you for blessing us with such dope, legendary, distinctive rap music. Rest in power🙏🏾 #legend #fucksicklecell #blessedlife

Radiohead: “I Promise”

Growing up, artist’s like Radiohead, Deerhunter, Moby, Joy Division, Cannibal Ox, MF Doom, Blockhead and beautiful, dark, dismal sounds alike that range from Rock to what we used to call, “underground” Hip Hop were a part of my musical regime. 

The album, “Kid A” literally changed my life and provided me a lot of therapy in my youth and still, Radiohead’s music soothes me and allows for sweet nostalgia. To me, Radiohead represents healing. The music allowed me to grieve all of the tragic losses of my youth with warmth and open arms. I will forever be grateful for that. 

So naturally when I heard that they were releasing new music, coming out of their intermediate retirement from making, “miserable” records. I was thrilled. 

“I Promise” is one of 3 previously unreleased tracks from the album OK Computer.

Hey everyone,

I’m so sorry for my long, longgggg hiatus from Tumblr. I don’t love it (or you) any less, I’ve just been focusing a lot of my energy into developing an online boutique that I have be talking about starting up for YEARS. And of course, myself. I’ll link the boutique at the end of this post. 

Truthfully, I’ve really been conflicted about my blogging and just with the in’s and out’s of growing up and getting my life together, in general. 

I’m 30 now and weirdly enough, turning 30 back in October just kicked my motivation into building, securing myself professionally, creatively and mentally into high gear. 30 is NOT old by any means. But lets just say that over the years….I’ve been a grower not a show-er, so to speak. I've been spoiled as an independent contractor most of my life and know moving forward, I only want to work for myself. A clear sense of perspective HAS to be a fair excuse for my absence. The boutique has been coming together really well, and I plan on blending that more into my Tumblr in the future for visibility, and of course to be more connected to you all here. I hate that I’ve been absentee. Especially since you all as my followers and friends have low-key been my therapists for years, allowing me your ears and eyes to my self expression and most hidden self…good and bad. Anyway I wanted to insert all this because I hope to inspire you all and to normalize the need for a break sometimes in life. Don’t be discouraged by others in pursuit of your happiness. I am living proof that all your dreams can be graced into completion with the right time and patience. It has taken me a long time to realize that someone else timeline to success isn’t inherently mine. Just trust in your most authentic self.
