I’m devastated, really. We lost our Queen yesterday. We had someone die, someone who has lived for DECADES. This is basically a century of life, gone in an instant.

We didn’t deserve her. Decades of service, and she brought so much to US, the people. She was powerful, but she knew when to wield it. She could make us laugh. She could also make us cry— and I never knew I’d feel like this when she was gone, but here we are, I’m crying my heart out. Inconsolable.

We mustn’t forget that she was also caring. She was A MOTHER. And she had family, and as complicated as family can be, (I think we’ve seen how complicated her family is!), she still loved them and they loved her, and we should consider their pain as we also grieve. But her family was not just blood, it was also people she met on her journey. A found family, and we are among them in mourning.

Some people are saying that we should embrace change. That we don’t know what will happen in the coming weeks and we may feel differently soon. I say ignore them. Let us mourn. Let us process our feelings. And pay some DAMN RESPECT. I don’t want to see any memes. People are hurting. I am hurting. Don’t talk to me.

back in the summer of 2018, while watching critical role live, i decided to call it a night and go to sleep early rather than continue watching: i could just check tumblr in the morning.

i woke up to a favourite PC dead!

and, i made the decision to make my best effort to watch the show live. just in case.

so last night, when i decided to just have an early night because “nothing that big was happening”…

i really should have seen it coming.

bro genuinely healing for something like critical role that has a huge audience being so casual about gender, especially in the most recent campaign. not just that two main PCs using he/they pronouns (and the way everyone immediately respected and embraced that), but the way they talk about NPCs, characters they dont know yet/cant remember the gender of, not just the actors above table but the characters in game! matt had an NPC casually describe another NPC as "masculine presenting i think?" which is so above what even a lot of queer friendly media would say!!

so anyway we've gone past "dont give media awards for doing the bare minimum" bc critrole is going WAY beyond the bare minumum and i AM gonna give them awards!! im presenting them the Most Comfortable Storytelling For My Nonbinary Queer Ass award!!
