Kinda inspired by the last few anons about this topic but I honestly think jonnay and the other coaches joking about ghostie being his girlfriend made everything so much worse. They (infume and Ghostie) were going into this with a pretty good plan of "it would be fun to be on a team together but I'd also want to be coached by others" etc I think she name-dropped couriway as someone she would loved to be coached by.

But then the draft starts and everyone is like "ghostie is going to go for 70 points and you can't do anything about it infume hahahaha" and when he tried to get Katie (someone he was excited to coach) they made fun of him by making him say that he really wants Katie and going "this guy has a whole ass gf in the draft btw" like??? I expect a level of manipulation and mental games it's the MIDOFFS DRAFT after all and they're all good friends but I just feel like this made him so anxious and afraid to look like an ass and a bad bf if he didn't go all in for ghostie and personally I think that's why he didn't go as hard for like philza and Theo.

yeah from what i've seen before the draft (which was admittedly, not much) it looked like he had a general idea that he wanted to draft ghostie and the more people talked about it, the more it became his "mission" to draft her. a lot of fans expected him to draft her and other coaches also mentioned it (i know hax did for sure) so when the draft came, he looked pretty set on getting ghostie on his team.

i still think he should've recognised after drafting nerdi that he will likely not be able to get ghostie too and should've committed to katie and whoever else he bid on. but the thing is, he is crazy easy to be bullied and embarrass and the other coaches know this, so obviously they will use this to their advantage. as you said, we expect a bit of mindgames to happen! i think it just sucks a little that it always happens to him. hax can crash out about max, kyle can quiz couri on gem but nobody will be bullied like infume.

so when this happens, he doesn't know how to stand up for himself and gets kinda pushed around and creating bad experiences for himself. but it does make sense why it happened and it's not surprising, knowing his track record, but it's still sad and i still think he's stupid.

also i saw a clip of fein talking about how they are not extensions of eachother and we shouldn't treat them as such (or something like this, sorry i don't remember what was said exactly, just the sentiment of it) and with this context, that we have at least one person who KNOWS and thinks they shouldn't be associated with each other all time, just makes the whole thing a bit more sad. like yeah they are friends and i'm sure it's fine and sometimes i just think i overthink things for other people when it's not that deep, but man.

they can't win either way :(

fwiw i'm not the anon you replied to earlier on midoffs drafts but i think both youse were right about infume and honestly didn't think you were mean at all, just reasonably critical. (anon yr a little mean but i feel you soooo)

i love him and i love watching him. he's so fun to listen to and see play. he comes off as sweet and i think hes prolly a good dude. it seems almost like he's caught between whether or not to really send it on the being-a-creator thing. and he gets these opportunities like doing midoffs and other collabs and things, and agrees to do a lot of them withot doing much research first, and then ends up either a, in settings/things he wasn't actually comfortable with or interested in doing, or b, his experience in a thing could've been fine, but he didn't prep even minimally for it and/or he thought it was going to be different than how it actually is, so he ends up not enjoying it rlly bc it wasn't what he expected

i rlly hope he starts learning from these experinces and trying to plan better. it saddens me to see him have a bad time when doing creator shit, and a lot of those bad times seem maybe mitigatable with different choices from him,,, i didn't used to get what drew people to mc streamers for fandom but gd i feel it for him. it's so nice to see him happyyy i long for him to do things and make choices that make him happy more often :3 good blog btw i love reading your posts and your thoughts on shit

ive been feeling reasonably bad about it bc as much as i think it's important and needed even to criticise the things you enjoy, he is still a person and while (i hope) he'll never see this, i don't think it's good to get carried away.

i definitely think he should think these decisions through more, and i mean that in general. i also noticed that he seems generally uncomfortable being in a situation as a creator and i feel like it's because he still views himself as more of a guy who speedruns minecraft than a streamer. it looks like he's trying to branch out and be included in more of these things (i remember him talking about messaging people for videos, he obviously had lsw then ls, then moneysmp, and midoffs rn) but he doesn't seem prepared to do them yet. and that's okay! he's young and it's new and it's okay, he'll learn and it'll be fine.

but it bums me out how he could just prepare, go in with a plan (like the draft) and then he could do better and feel better about the whole thing. he's already a sensitive guy and it probably doesn't help that no matter what he does he gets "picked on." see: after hax crashes out at couriway, infume makes a joke and both couri and fulham crash out on HIM. like why you say fuck me for

and i do want to add that i also love him lots, he's the one that reeled me into actually watching streams again and not just clip comps. he has such a compelling personality, i like his insight, dumbass jokes and he's also good at my favourite game :3 he could just be really stupid sometimes which creates bad experiences for himself and then he goes back in, thinking it will be different but it isn't. vicious cycle.

i really hope he'll still coach and do good and have fun with the event, that is really what midoffs is all about!

tulip, icl i prayed on ghostfume's downfall in the midoffs draft and was rewarded BIG. ghostie ended up on anyone but infume's team and that's a W to me (she got picked by feinberg). ghostie wins here imo, shes already said that shes always wanted to team with him in an event and this is even better than that!! big Ws for ghostie content and new collab opportunities!

infume seems disappointed with his team, he got two perfectly fine players (ashswag and dude called duncan) and lowk i think he completely deserves to be disappointed and hope he is. hope he learns from it. he played the whole draft like a coward cuz he was scared of not having a chance at getting ghostie even though it was obvious to anybody with eyes that other peopl would snipe her cuz shes a great competitive pick AND you get to mess with infume, two birds one stone etc

there were multiple other players infume mentioned being interested in more than once before the draft happened, katieb, philza were two i heard him say more than once. when they came up, he bid barely jack shit on any of them cuz he was trying to save all his points for when ghostie came up. and predictably, somebody else sniped her cuz duh why wouldnt you? little mister codependent turned his cam and mic off immediately after losing the bid for ghostie. HAHAAAAA. i wish that i felt any empathy for him in that moment but i could not lol bro has nobody on his team hes excited about now and its 100% on him for playing the whole draft excessively safe cuz he wanted to hang out with his gf. which still, as someone who's been clingy and codependent with a partner before, seems monumentally stupid to me, considering you don't need the midoffs excuse to get your gf to hang out with you! midoffs might be the only in you get with philza or katieb! too bad you threw it lil bro

i don't know what ghostie was thinking but she seemed genuinely sad when she talked about the draft yesterday, it looked like she also preferred being drafted by someone else, and rightfully so! I am glad she is happy with feinberg, if he fumbles her i am killing him with my mind.

infume is just a dumbass. i don't think he has ever left a midoffs draft happy with his choices, he always has to put all of his eggs in one basket and then disappointing himself. and he didn't even get a bad team! i don't watch either ashswag or duncan but i've heard good things of both of them. i hope he'll still put in his all for the coaching or if he doesn't, he should seriously consider declining the invitation to coach next time. i don't see how he doesn't understand the point of the event and that it's all for fun and for merging sides of mcyt. i want to dissect his brain. what the fuck is going on in there

also, him still thinking that he can get ghostie when he had to drop two points on an assistant coach is also just stupid. like if there are people who can outbid you, they will! ghostie is a GREAT pick, she already knows so much and she is so competitive, of course someone is going to snipe her! i believe people still would've even if it wasn't for pissing off infume. i don't want to dog on him too much bc unfortunately he is still my chud ass streamer but for a guy so known for his decisionmaking when speedrunning, he cannot make good choices irl for the life of him.

i would've loved to see him coach philza, he talked about watching him and being a big fan multiple times in the past so he would've been a good content pick and a good pick just overall too. same with katieb. it would've been so fun! and again, midoffs is all about creating new, never before seen interactions! he can hang out codependently with ghostie anytime he wants to and he has to understand that.

this was really mean and i feel bad. so i want to add that i understand wanting to codependently hang out with your girlfriend. it's okay. i don't agree with it but it's his choice.

i just think he should've recognised the fact that he cannot get ghostie when he dished out two points on nerdi and there were still coaches with more points than him. at that point he should've pivoted and tried to spend points on other contestants.

i don't think he understands the point of the tournament and it makes me a little sad. but it's okay bc he's also a little sad.
