On Rotation: Nick and Tyler’s Top 5 Favorite Albums for the Time Being
Greetings music fans, we're coming to you not so live from two separate bedrooms approximately six hundred miles apart to sell you on some albums you might want to get into. We here at Double LP know that you are all floating on your own island of musical goods and bads and we're okay with that, everything here is just a recommendation. But just to give you a little insight, we have both picked out our top five favorite albums at the moment for your listening pleasure (or displeasure, whatever sinks your ship). Each one is accompanied by our favorite song on the album just to give you an idea of what to expect. The albums are as follows:
Nick- 1. Father John Misty's "I Love You Honeybear"- Chateau Lobby (in C for Two Lovers) 2. Ought's "Sun's Coming Down"- Beautiful Blue Sky 3. Talking Heads' "77"- The Book I Read 4. Run the Jewels' "Run the Jewels 2"- Close Your Eyes (and Count to Fuck) 5. Tears for Fears' "Songs from the Big Chair"- Head Over Heels
Tyler- 1. Red Hot Chili Peppers' "By The Way"- all of them 2. Queens of the Stone Age's "Like Clockwork"- Kalopsia 3. Arctic Monkeys' "Whatever I Say I Am, That's What I'm Not"- Tales From San Francisco 4. Sufjan Stevens' "Carrie and Lowell"- Fourth of July 5. St. Vincent's "St. Vincent"- Huey Newton
Let these albums shape your perception and opinion of us, for they stand as testament to the kind of music we listen to when the sun is up, down, left, right, diagonal, backwards, too fucking bright, not bright enough, or shining out of someone's ass. If any of these appeal to you in some way or another then stay tuned for more recommendations, reviews, and lists similar. If they don't, still stay tuned so you can have something to complain about next time you need to impress that special someone you'd hit rock bottom with a gin in one hand and a vape in the other before fucking. Salutations citizens.
