I recently saw this post by @eidolon-azii and it made me want to re-read that part of volume 6 so I did. Here's the page that was mentioned in the linked post:
Nanahara: Doumeki said "I understand" with a face like he'd given up
Nana: After this, that guy [Doumeki] can probably go home to his family
Sugimoto: Did someone contact them?
Nana: Maybe the hospital staff did?
Nana: Y'know, if that guy hadn't been there Kashira might have died. I feel really grateful...
Nana: If I'm honest, I want to do something for him...
This is the conversation between Nanahara and Sugimoto at the end of volume 6 (ch 35) when both Yashiro and Doumeki are recovering in the hospital. Yashiro visits Doumeki from a far, making sure that Doumeki won't be able to notice him. In the second panel, as Yashiro looks on at D, covering his bad eye, we have the exchange between Sugi and Nana: "Did someone contact [Doumeki's family]?" to which Nana replies "Maybe the hospital staff did?"
But no, my fellow fandom folks. I have read this part a billion times and I'm embarrassed to say that it just dawned on me- obviously Yashiro contacted them. And then I cried for a while. 🥲
The Yakuza play a vital role in Saezuru, but we feel like a lot of readers (ourselves included!) struggle to keep track of the various characters, factions, and plot threads.
Yoneda-sensei has created a fantastic story, and we really want to help fans understand the details of the rich world she's woven.
So... we made this Saezuru Yakuza chart to help you all follow along with the story! All information in here is up-to-date as of Chapter 49.

PRESENTING THE FIRST CHAPTER IN VOLUME 9!!!! WE ARE HERE!!!
-continuing from where mix_12 left off; Mafuyu is worried about music so he goes outside to the park, sits on a bench and tries to sing. But his inability to do so only adds to his worries.
-Ue comes running to see Mafuyu. (Mafuyu had sent him a text saying he’s lonely and wanted to see him.) Pale with worry, he yells at Mafuyu to reply faster to his texts, but Mafuyu’s delighted response upon seeing him, has him instantly mollified.
-Ue settles on the bench beside Mafuyu, who rests his head on Ue’s shoulder and breathes a sigh of relief.
-Feeling guilty about spending all his time recently with Hiiragi at band practice and neglecting Mafuyu, Ue invites Mafuyu to go practice at the studio, just the two of them but Mafuyu declines.
-Although Ue senses something’s off, he doesn’t dwell on it too much.
-Realizing it’s almost time for the last train, Ue hands him a ticket for Hiiragi’s concert and says, “I wan’t you to come.”
-Mafuyu’s expression changes and he pulls away from Ue- who is startled by this strange reaction and he finally realizes that Mafuyu has indeed been acting strange and cold when it came to music.
-Hastily announcing it’s time for the last train, Ue stands up to leave. Taken aback, Mafuyu only says, “huh?...oh...” and looks anxious.
-At home, Ue is depressed and overwhelmed by everything that happened. He worries about Mafuyu’s reaction earlier; which was like him rejecting music.
-Given has not had a practice session in 2 months. He wonders if Mafuyu doesn’t want to sing anymore which could lead to the band splitting up. And, if he messed up when he joined Hiiragi’s band to help him but he’d worked on THE song—simply because he wanted Mafuyu to listen to it.
-He thinks about Shizu and Hiiragi (and their whole situation) and the chapter ends with him thinking he can’t be like that.

Quite a few heart breaking face expressions in this chapter... so, brace yourselves.
I’ve excluded a lot of details as always, because instead of losing your shit after reading some spoilers, y'all should just wait to read the chapter... And enjoy it then x.x
As for my thoughts... It’s very interesting how music has influenced relationships in this story:
Ugetsu gave up on Akihiko for music -> Akihiko kinda gave up on music once because of Ugetsu but fell in love with it again because of Haruki and the kids.
Shizu is doing music for and because of Hiiragi. -> Hiiragi is doing music to bind Shizu to him.
Uenoyama wants to do music WITH Mafuyu. And he can’t give up on either one.
Annnnnd,
Mafuyu... is afraid of being left out? He loves music but at the same time he’s scared of it. Being “excluded” once again has brought to surface some unpleasant memories. Soooo... to him, music IS the villain, it took Yuki from him, IS taking Ue away from him and he’s terrified.
Basically, Mafuyu is hurt because he doesn’t know Ue’s intentions.
And, Ue doesn’t know this is Mafuyu sulking because he’s lonely and feeling left out again.
...Yet they just keep missing each other and running away from one another smh.
Will they overcome this? Absolutely.
Because neither of them want to let go of the other.
Holy Night, a BL novel written by Yuri Eda and illustrated by Yoneda Kou.
This novel has two content works, the unamed color and holy night. The Character is Amachi and Shima. They were two friends when they were 17, but less a lover. Their story during that age is told in the first story, the unnamed color.
In the second story, holy night, they become adults and meet again, but Shima with a fiance and Amachi with a boyfriend. It's the story of the reunion of two people who were attracted to each other and had some helpless circumstances.

Here are summary for each story, I'll start with first story:
1. The Unnamed Color
The characters are Fujino and Misakubo. Fujino is an editor from book publisher, handling a book which is illustrated by an illustrator named Misakubo. He heard that Misakubo doesn't work in Summer, but being an editor he is, Fujino wants to keep a cooperate relationship with the illustrator, and initiate to go to Misakubo's house. Only then he finds Misakubo asleep while soaking in the bathub with off air conditioner. Their relationship and story begins there. Fujino learns that Misakubo is gay, but they eventually becomes friends as Fujino is swayed by Misakubo's teasing and beauty. Misakubo on the other hand, still can't get over of his ex-boyfriend but gradually as he and Fujino become friends, starts to more dependent on Fujino and fall in love with him. But Misakubo's attitude is selfish so things doesn't go as smooth as Fujino's thought. But with Fujino's kindness and consideration, Misakubo little by little finds stability. Misakubo who usually draws only in black and white, starts to draw in colorful illustration of pink rose and shows it to Fujino. He asks Fujino's thought about it and leans his head on Fujino's shoulder and acts like a lover.
Later, Fujino finds out about Misakubo's ex-boyfriend and the fact that Misakubo's can't still get over him despite of having close relationship with Fujino. He discovers the illustration that Misakubo has been drawing does still have a sense of lingering feeling for the ex-boyfriend. Filled up with jealousy, Fujino decides to stop coming to Misakubo's house and avoid Misakubo. One day, Fujino is drunk and comes to Misakubo's house and tries to hug Misakubo's roughly. At this point, Misakubo who is upset to some extent at Fujino for avoiding him, sees Fujino as a drunk man who can't hold himself. He feels sorry and feel guilty for his attitude and embrace Fujino's back without rebel. But during the process, Fujino can't help but shed a tears for being ruthless to Misakubo and annoyed that he does things to Misakubo out of jealousy. Fujino then confesses his feeling but only to get a 'sorry' answer from Misakubo. It's because for Misakubo, it feels unfair for Fujino if Misakubo loves him without completely breaking off his own feeling towards his ex-boyfriend.
Few days later, Fujino who still have his heart broken, quits from the publishinh house and abruptly disappears. During this Fujino's disappearance Misakubo then realize he misses Fujino so much and learns that his heart filled with Fujino instead of his ex-lover.
Time passes by and Fujino works as editor in other publishing house. He works two times harder to get his mind busy as an escape for his broken heart. When the day of the release of the novel he's in charge comes, he goes to the nearby bookstore and sees a novel with Misakubo's name as an illustrator. There he also meets Inami, the author of that novel who is also Misakubo's bother in law. Inami informs that since Fujino's gone, Misakubo wanders around in search of Fujino. Fujino is surprised knowing that Misakubo is looking for him. Later he comes to Misakubo's house only to find that Misakubo has moved. Misakubo moved from the house because he wants to move from the house that has memories with his ex-boyfriend so he decides to move to a new house near a seaside. After so many twist and turn, Fujino discovers Misakubo's new place and he and Misakubo finally reunite (and have sex).
The story ends with them happily gazing at the purple dawn in the seaside.
The characters for this story are Amachi and Shimaoka. The story starts with Shimaoka, or Shima who has a fiancee, named Momoko. His fiancee forces him to work in real estate company, and there Shima reunites with Amachi. The story then gets to the flashback story of Shima and Amachi when they were 18 years old. They were two friends but turns to lovers as they discovers a lot of things like kissing, and things lovers would do. Conflict happened as they realized that their relationship started with a curiosity of their sexuality and never more than that. They grew up, graduated, leave their hometown and eventually had to broke up for better future, walking to different path.
Returning to present point, 10 years later they reunite since Amachi also work in the real estate company as a boss. But Shima already has fiancee and ready to get married and Amachi has his own boyfriend. But it doesn't stop them to get close again. Amachi who still have this longing feeling towards Shima, discovered by his boyfriend. Amachi's boyfriend become jealous and possessive and begin to engulf the desire for monopoly towards Amachi. He treats Amachi with rough xxx and calls Shima during xxx so Shima would hear Amachi's moans over the phone. This kind of act is purposely done to make Amachi's boyfriend satisfied and to let Shima knows that Amachi is his boyfriend now.
After twist and turn, the two fall apart and both Shima and Amachi return to their respective lovers. Years later, due to circumstances, Amachi is dumped by his boyfriend. Being abandoned, Amachi leaves everything and goes back to his hometown in Hokkaido. There, he meets Kabayama, a photographer. Amachi and Kabayama becomeand from Kabayama's perspective, Amachi always look sad. Amachi often come to Mashu Lake with the face like he wants to die. Amachi then says that he doesn't have the courage to die even though he doesn't deny that he always wanted to die, and looking at Mashu Lake makes him think that to die in such in beautiful place would be nice. Kabayama then asks Amachi to follow him to Okinawa and starts a new life there.
Back to Shima point of view. 10 years after of reuniting with Amachi and breaking up again, Shima is now a divorced man. His marriage with Momoko has failed. He now lives alone. One day he meets Amachi's former boyfriend and from him he knew that he and Amachi has broken up long ago. Shima realizes that the one he wants to spend time for the rest of his life is Amachi. From Amachi's ex-boyfriend, Shima heard that Amachi went back to Hokkaido. With the thought of reuniting once again with Amachi, Shima organizes everything and goes back to Hokkaido in hope to meet Amachi and start it all over again with Amachi. However, when Shima has already arrived, the trace of Amachi is now gone. He learns that Amachi has already left. The thought of being late gets Shima frustrated.
Days later, Shima discovers a magazine that has pictures photographed by Kabayama. Through those pictures, Shima sees Amachi. Shima then contacts Kabayama and asks him Amachi's whereabouts. Shima goes to Okinawa and makes sure this time he will reunite with Amachi. The two then meet and eventually confirm to each other feeling and return to Tokyo together.
Here is the summary for the third story (and the last story):
3. Gray - The Holy Night 10 Years Later
The story basically is the sequel of The Holy Night. 10 years after being together, Shima and Amachi are 48 years old and together. Shima's daughter, Rio lives with her mother and step father. But she maintains good relationship, acknowledges his father relationship with Amachi and doesnt have bad prejudice about them. One day, Rio comes to Shima and Amachi's place to play. When it's time for Rio to come home, Shima takes her home with motorcycle, but accident happens and Shima gets injured. Amachi then rushes to hospital about to cry thinking something bad would happen to Shima. Fortunately, Shima only gets minor injury. At that time, Amachi says that life is short he can't think his life would be without Shima. Shima then proposes to get marry which is immediately rejected by Amachi. Even though they have been together for 10 years, Amachi always decline the idea of marriage with Shima. Amachi thinks it's too bothersome since marriage needs documents and a lot of administrative things to be taken cae of. Shima is upset because he's confused as why Amachi always object the idea of marriage, arent they both love each other? Shima begins to doubt Amachi's love which is highly denied by Amachi.
Interestingly, Rio's Stepfather is a lawyer and Amachi told him the main reason he doesn't want to get married with Shima is because if he marries Shima, all properties of Shima that should be inhereted to Rio would be his and he doesnt want that. he doesnt want Rio lose his right over his father's properties just because his father marry other people. but later, Rio told him that she is okay with it, she doesnt eye money or properties of his father, she just wants his father to be happy and the happiness of his father is to marry Amachi.
When it's time for Shima to be released from hospital and come home, Amachi then does something that surprised Shima, he proposes Shima and finally they get married.
The Holy Night is actually the love story of 30 years.
Shima and Amachi were 18 when they started dating and then broke up
Shima and Amachi were 28 when they reunited for the first time and eventually had to be separated again because they both already had lovers.
Shima and Amachi were 38 when they reunited in Okinawa and finally could be together again
