“does listening to audiobooks count as reading” debates are always so funny bc people tie up their self worth in reading so when you say that listening is not reading they take it as a personal attack. no. it’s really not that deep. im not trying to establish a hierarchy of value. it’s just that words have definitions. listening is not reading. talking is not writing. reading means interpreting symbols, usually visually, and it typically has to be taught. listening to and understanding spoken speech does not require the ability to read. they are different things lol.
