Long time no see

Hello! It’s been a while. Last year was my freshman year of high school and it kind of kicked me in the ass, not going to lie. I took an honors English course and although I learned a lot in that class, it was extremely fast paced. I seem to remember the teacher telling us that it was college level. Anyways, now my sophomore year is much easier. Don’t get me wrong, it has its difficult moments, but after that honors English class, which I also took two years in a row, a lot more things are easier for me, including writing fanfiction. This brings me to the point of this post: I’m writing another one!! It will be a Harry Potter AU set in a world where Harry Potter really does die when he confronts Voldemort. However, it won’t center around the battle. It will mostly be from Ghost!Harry’s point of view as he watches Draco through the stages of grief. I have tentatively titled it Death and Flowers Go Hand in Hand, but that might change soon. I’ll keep you posted on details! I’m not sure when I’ll be done writing it, but it will hopefully be soon. State Bound?

So, as you may or may not know, I'm involved in the fine arts. I sing, play clarinet and bassoon in band, and I perform plays and musicals in theater. In my high school in Minnesota, we have a competition play that we do in the winter every year called the One Act Play Contest. I'm happy to say that I've been in the One Act for two years now, as both a freshman and a sophomore. This year our One Act advanced. We placed first in our subsection, so we are going to sections!! If we place first in our section, we go to state!! We are very excited about this, as it's the first time in a few years that we've advanced. Please wish us luck for this amazing opportunity!!! P.S. Wizarding Schools Descend Upon Hogwarts

Hold your horses, readers! This week marks the initiation of the seventh W.A.C (Wizarding Academies Conference), currently unearthing at Hogwarts School for the first time since its inception. Last held in 2013, the conference was introduced following the second Wizarding War in order to tighten international relations and improve global student prospects.

Though attendance at the conference is not compulsory for all 11 recognised wizarding institutes across the globe, this year sees the most schools represented since its inception 18 years ago. A total of 8 have agreed to attend; Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, France; Uagadou, Uganda; Mahoutokoro, Japan; Castelobruxo, Brazil; Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (host), United Kingdom and Ireland; Ilvermorny, of Northern America; and The Durmstrang Institute, of Northern Europe. This year also sees the addition of the Russian Academy of Koldovstoretz, which had previously refused to the conference on the grounds of their heated rivalry between the Durmstrang Institute.

However all previous quarrels appeared to have been forgiven and forgotten as representatives and collectives of students arrived via air, sea, land and apparition earlier this morning. Each school is thought to have brought 50 students each to depict their respective institutes. The scene was an array of warm greetings and colour, as Castelobruxo’s bright green robes contrasted with Mahoutokoro’s varying gold and pink ones.

It was also perceptible that a number of the students appeared particularly stirred at their arrival at the legendary school, undoubtedly due to the presence of Harry Potter’s son, first year Gryffindor James Potter.

Students are expected to stay until Friday, and the week will be filled with exchanges, dinners and games, as well as usual lessons. For readers who would like to get involved with the conference, students will be visiting the Ministry of Magic on Thursday afternoon.

No, but Ginny is the proof that you can go through the worst experience or trauma anyone could go through, come out of it well-adjusted and full of life, but that also doesn’t mean that you forget that the trauma ever happened. It stays with you but you don’t have to allow yourself to turn into a mess of teenage angst. She’s the proof that things can turn out well in the future and that you aren’t defined by what happens in your past, and it’s not portrayed in some preachy, saccharine way either.

She’s extremely feminine but it’s not treated like some sort of crime and she’s good at sports and kicks ass, has both healthy and unhealthy female friendships-slash-relationships, doesn’t get trapped in some ‘you’re not like other girls’ trope and later has a career that would that could easily interfere with her plans for a family but it clearly doesn’t and she isn’t condemned for either her choice of career or having a family, and she gets to be happy without having to give up who she is or compromise herself for a man, and she gets to be with the guy she loves despite the fact that Ginny Weasley could totally be awesome even without Harry Potter who is probably just going to be her biggest fan and god I’m getting emotional because do you know how rare that kind of female character is in EVERYTHING.
