Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.

We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.

The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.

Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.

Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.

There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.

Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.

We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.

Confusion. He talks a big game but rarely gets flirted with. He’s usually the one doing the flirting so he’s definitely surprised by this turn of events but not displeased. If you catch him enough off guard, he’ll flirt back a bit before refocusing on what he came to do with some yelling over the scouter from Vegeta.

Yeah, Kuriza is gonna be the rich punk kid that everyone hates because his entire life is just one big free ride with everything he wants~ Speaking of rides, I always like to imagine that the reason frieza is never riding his hover-car thing in the Broly Movie is because of this:

It might even explain why he's willing to move his ship away from the battlefield, or why when he hears about Broly's anger issues his response is "you brought danger to my ship" not "oh cool hope he goes feral on my enemies lmaooo". It's probably just supposed to show that he's matured and cares more about his troops than in Resurrection F but shhhhhh.

Frieza

- He doesn’t know how to genuinely comfort you about your dysphoria so his response is to spoil you. If you look at something for more than 5 seconds, he’s getting it for you.

- It’s quickly becomes an unspoken concern that if you misgender Frieza’s partner, he’ll kill you. Which is true since if it makes you upset or uncomfortable, Frieza’s first response is usually to get rid of it through violent means.

- Frieza isn’t good at emotional support so if you’re upset about something he can’t immediately fix, he just lets you cuddle him and will murder anyone who looks at you two wrong.

Gohan

- Gohan does a lot of research on the subject when you bring up that your trans. He wants to understand you as much as he can and is super supportive.

- He’s a great emotional support when you need it. Not so great at making comfort food. He will try though.

- Curling up with popcorn, blankets and a comfort movie is a common activity.
