2. Great drawing, though I don't know anything about the character. I would compliment the drawing more, but I don't know anything about drawing.

NPD— facts vs myths
1. Grandiosity is obvious if you look for arrogance, overconfidence, selfishness, and entitlement.
Fact: Many narcissists try to hide their grandiosity because we’re ashamed of it and/or because we’re afraid of coming off as rude, self-centered, “crazy”, unlikable, etc.
2. Narcissists don’t feel shame, guilt, remorse, or empathy.
Fact: Some narcissists can empathize and feel guilt and remorse, some can’t, some feel it in fluctuations— but we tend to experience shame in excessive amounts and are usually more reactive to it than egotypicals, often expressing it through irritation and anxiety.
3. Narcissists rely solely on others to fuel their ego and keep them stable.
Fact: Narcissists develop highly complex defense mechanisms to protect their vulnerable self-esteem. This includes strategies that rely on others and strategies that don’t. I personally tend to find isolation safe, comforting, and vital to my mental health, and will reach out when I’m lonely or wanting to talk to the people I care about.
4. Narcissists only care about themselves and don’t care about what other people want or need.
Fact: Empathy ≠ care and narcissists are fully capable of trying to keep healthy relationships. Humans generally don’t want to go through life alone, and narcissists aren’t another species. We value our relationships and want to see people happy. Yes, it makes us feel good. Yes, it serves us in multiple ways. But that doesn’t make it any less genuine or meaningful. We want to keep peace in our environment and have people in our lives, like anyone would.
5. Narcissists love themselves and think they’re perfect.
Fact: Narcissists struggle deeply with perfectionism and internalized self-loathing. Our grandiosity is a self-deception. This means that our own minds are actively trying to drown out the self-loathing with self-importance so that we won’t notice how worthless we truly feel inside. Because of this, we may hold ourselves to much higher standards and are constantly criticizing ourselves through even the most passing of thoughts. Our thoughts can be a constant battle between “I know better” and “why are you being so stupid then?”

i.e. why when you or someone else gets stabbed or impaled, you should leave the object in the wound until medical help arrives.
THIS. RIGHT HERE. This is an amazing example!!
If you take the thing out, they’re going to bleed a lot more.
SO. DONT.
News Flash from the Medical Help ™ — we don’t touch it either! Unless the object they’re impaled with is literally too big to fit in the ambulance, We. Don’t. Touch. The. Thing.
The only people qualified to Take-The-Thing-Out are surgeons. End of story.
Okay, but for the love of God, please, PLEASE, if you did, if you panicked and took the thing out…. DON’T…. PUT IT BACK IN.
Or else, congratulations, you just stabbed them AGAIN. I reeeeeally shouldn’t have to say this guys, but I do.
Congratulations,
YOU JUST STABBED THEM AGAIN
i feel like that last comment should be accompanied by a bill-wurtz-style jingle
college is catered towards the able bodied and able minded. school applauds people who can stay up all night, skip meals, and work endlessly. that kind of extreme contribution is expected. why are disabled people being squeezed out of academic institutions? why should I feel inferior because of some arbitrary and ridiculous standard?
The undying truth.
Not to mention, every college campus Ive ever been on is MADE of stairs and hills.
I tried to talk to one of my college professors about my ADHD once and he literally stopped me and said if I couldn’t handle it I shouldn’t be there
Read the book Academic Ableism on this subject. It’s an excellent read and I genuinely think about it all the time still even though I read it a couple years ago.
Here’s the Open Access version.
i hope all the little ballerinas who live in music boxes are okay. i hope it isn’t too dark in there.
Being the only guy who works in a beauty store is fucking hilarious sometimes. Im the only one who can sell our shitty beard shampoo and a not insignificant amount of our customers think im untrustworthy. According to my coworkers i use every mens product we have so they can get dudes to buy a shaving cream. Trying to explain to people that theres no difference between "men's" and "women's" products is like talking to a brick wall. Ive had multiple women get angry with me for sampling them out one of our "men's" moisturizers when they specifically said they wanted a mattifying one to control oil and that's the best one we have for those two things. I still think about the guy who came in asking if we had "masks for men." I contemplate ending it all every time someone returns a completely unused product that they absolutely refuse to try just because it either says or doesnt say "for men" on it. 90% of the time its the perfect product for them. I had a lady who was willing to buy a worse product for her needs that was more expensive just so it wouldnt say it was for men. Are you ever tired? Are you ever exhausted? These are the same kinds of people who say that im the one whos obsessed with gendering everything because im trans.
Tumblr burned down years ago, and now a tranquil meadow has grown from its ruins
Tumblr is that barren pasture in Costa Rica that was purposely filled with 12,000 metric tons of orange peels by conservation researchers. Initially, the orange peels decomposed into “sludgy stuff filled with fly larvae.” This led to accusations that the juice company providing the peels were “defiling the land,” and thus, the site was ultimately abandoned. But when researchers went back about 15 years later, they discovered “the arid landscape had been unrecognisably transformed into a dense, vine-filled jungle... as for how the orange peels were able to regenerate the site so effectively in just 16 years of isolation, nobody's entirely sure.”
And that, my friends, is Tumblr.

Fun Fact and History Lesson!
The 'no beta we die like [character]' originated from this damn photo that went viral on Tumblr in 2016 and changed Ao3 tags and fanfic vernacular forever.
Meaning: it's a tag used on fics that were not beta read (the author didn't get someone to read it for them before posting). Betas read fics to check for spelling, grammar, consistently, etc and often edit it.
*
Similarly, 'Dead dove' or 'dead dove do not eat' is from this scene in Arrested Development.
Meaning: if there's a warning of something really dark/bad, don't open/read it and expect something different. Or: 'mind the tags this is dark, don't read if you don't like it'.
