I just want to point out the core of what the diffuser did in this conversation

They recognized that the mother was also expressing a vulnerable truth about herself - that she felt like a bad mother because her child was expressing gender feelings she wasn’t equipped to help with - and met her where she was, a concerned parent with limited information - to point her where she should be heading, research and resources.

Im going to make more of an effort to stop reflexively pushing people away when they express biases and make more of an effort to hear the underlying fears when i can

heh, hope this is okay to ask you directly and not a character-- i guess i had a lot of things to say and now i'm unsure how to say them. i followed your art back in the day, i actually put together a bark elm cosplay you might have seen, and then i migrated to tumblr and hadn't checked in for a while. and then i saw that you'd made the decision to shelve dragontry and nuzrooke sun, both for entirely understandable and mature reasons. i guess i wanted to ask-- are you doing all right these days?

Hello! Yes it was fine to ask, heh. I'm touched that you thought of me, and enjoyed my past projects!

I'm doing well! I don't post art as much these days, but I have been animating more on my Youtube channel. Smaller scale projects with easier deadlines than my big comic projects.

A lot of my creative energy these days is also spent on my job as a storyboard artist. I've been very lucky to work on a lot of really fun projects! So I am doing just fine. I hope you are doing good as well!

put coffee pot in coffee maker

open cupboard

get coffee filter from cupboard

It’s late, I’m very tired and stressed so this is self care

But anyone out there know a lot about...podcasts? Or fanfiction? Those are two things that I can FEEL I would enjoy, but it seems daunting to even know where to begin. Where does one find good fanfiction?? Where does one listen to podcasts?? Where are these things hiding, and once I find them, how do I navigate the immense AMOUNT of them to find stuff that I’ll like??

In particular I finished playing through Fire Emblem: Three Houses recently (and I mean FINISHED playing, I got all endings, nearly all supports, and logged 600+ hours into it) and I both really want to write fan fiction and read fan fiction OF the game because I love it so much

Also would anyone who’s played the game want to hear about my massive head-canon AU world of fe3h, where I mixed and matched my favorite elements across canonical paired character endings in order to create *the perfect ending* and give different characters even more growth and connection with one another than what was shown in the actual game? Including which pairings are my OTP’s and WHY based on in-game character analysis and what would make a good story?

Anyhoo if anyone here knows their way around the fanfiction and/or podcast jungle please hit me up

I just showed the movie My Neighbor Totoro to my housemates and their two little boys, ages 8 and 3, and they loved it, and their reactions afterwards are so wholesome I’m dying

Right after the movie ended the 8 year old asked if we could watch it again immediately, from the top. When his dad said no the 8 year old jumped on his back and said “Dad you’re the Catbus! Next stop, my room!”

Then the 8 year old and his little brother ran off down the hall. In the distance I heard them say “I’m the big Totoro!!” and his 3 year old brother reply “And I’m the little one!!”

The 8 year old also proceeded to run around the house roaring like Totoro, and just a bit ago I could hear him from up in my room, saying “This is my totoro roar: roaarrrrr. And this is my SUPER DUPER roar, to call the Catbus to come give me a ride. ROAAARRRRR!!”

My heart is full to bursting, the torch has been passed on to the next generation

Is there a website to look up models or people  to draw, with gender, ethnicity, and age filters. (if possible)?

 For example if a wanted to make a cartoon character realistic and use a real person for reference or to edit the photo to look like them?

I’ve been just googling  white 20s male, black female 40s etc. (can’t find any good references for kids either)  and been sifting through the results.
