Ship has officially hit 60k hits. That's so many people.

I know I've been gone for like 3 months now, and I apologise for that but I checked back in today and about had a breakdown while playing DnD.

Words cannot express my feelings at watching that number grow. I never expected anything for this story, I just knew that I wanted to write it. Every person that gives it a read is more than I ever hoped for. I continue to get emails almost daily telling me people have left either kudos or comments on Ship and those are some of the brightest moments of my day.

i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.

Day 1 of the 3 day 30k is done!

My goal for the 3 days is 21k, or hopefully finishing three full chapters.

I had a good day. After a week or so of struggling to put any words on the page, writing felt so good. I could tell I was still getting into the swing of things, but it felt good to stretch all of the muscles again.

Goal for the day was 7k words; wrote just over 5.5k which I’m happy with. I was pretty distracted throughout the day and I finished my broad edits and changes for Chap 20 (which took 3 hours and only added 500 word towards the word count).

So far, so good! Excited to continue tomorrow!!!

Due to my crazy work weekend, editing for the next chapter was not completed in time.

I know I definitely want to make some heavy edits to the chapter before I post it, and I’d rather take my time to make sure I’m happy with it than just put something out today that I’ll have to go back and change later.

Chap 20 of Ship in a Bottle should be up next Monday, sorry for the delay!

Also. Let’s just go ahead and expect chaps to be biweekly through the American holiday season. I’m a retail worker and we are already into our Black Friday madness at my store, and I expect this kind of craziness to continue until the week after Christmas so.

So about that challenge…. 😂

Life has a way of kicking you in the nuts sometimes, huh? Or more accurately, work.

I did not have the mental bandwidth to participate in the 30k in 3 days challenge over the weekend with everyone else. It was cool seeing everyone’s stories grow and to watch them all accomplish their goals.

I will be doing it on my own probably starting tomorrow. Wish me luck and motivation.

Well, I’m about to embark on another 30k in 3 days writing challenge.

I am. So not ready for it lmao. Work has demanded a lot of my attention and time, but I’m going to give it my best shot! The goal is 21k (or at least two full chapters), but I will be happy if I manage to get 15k with my busy work schedule!

I’ll update as we go, hopefully the writing gods are kind to me with this one!! 😬🥺
