They kept passing it back and forth until nobody remembered who started it.
By then, it was probably mutual.

They kept passing it back and forth until nobody remembered who started it.
By then, it was probably mutual.
The Canada goose continues to reject both criticism and basic traffic laws.
He's back!
The first one to realize something was wrong and immediately make it everyone else’s problem.
INTERMISSION:
rapid screaming from inside the oak tree. Nobody appears to be in charge here.
bird enjoyers may enjoy this art but the backstory is i unknowingly sent my cousin pictures on three separate occasions asking "what kind of bird is that" and it was always a starling
Shiny
Northern mockingbird.
Professional recycler of stolen material.
Will repeat the same thing loudly until everyone involved becomes uncomfortable.
a redhead
The California thrasher spends most of its life sprinting through dense brush, yelling from somewhere out of sight, and refusing to elaborate further.
Apparently this is considered successful behavior.

Kitty!
Run. Stop. Scream. Repeat.
The killdeer’s entire survival strategy is turning open ground into a live-action emergency drill.
Run one direction. Pivot. Start yelling. Fake an injury.
Keep moving fast enough that nobody notices this plan sounds completely unreasonable.
It looks chaotic. It looks ridiculous.
Going nowhere fast enough, apparently, still counts as a strategy.
Built like a songbird. Emotionally committed to being a tiny roadside menace.
No talons? Fine. Use thorns. Use barbed wire. Turn the landscape into meal prep with consequences.
He’s not being dramatic. He’s being efficient.
Unfortunately, the evidence is now everyone’s problem.
Episode 1: The Grackle Arrives
In the age-old chronicles of birbs who land on important objects, none stood prouder than Dramatic Birb.
He did not seek legend. Legend, unfortunately, sought him.
Now he’s got responsibilities.
(He’s not ready. The council will make sure of that.)
He’s been in that oak tree for twenty minutes and hasn’t blinked once. We have to address the massive yellow beak and the fact that he absolutely knows he is the protagonist here. He’s the only one allowed to talk; the rest of us are just the background noise.
Don't let the sunrise colors fool you—the orange and black might look festive, but the expression says he’s seen your search history and he’s definitely telling your mother. It's a truth you can't outrun, delivered by a bird with a beak meant for industrial-grade destruction and a total lack of empathy for your life choices.
First light, first look. Don’t mistake the lack of movement for a lack of intent. We’re just getting started.
Legend didn’t just seek him—it followed him across state lines. This scrub jay hasn’t claimed an important object yet, but he’s already mastered the art of the judgmental side-eye.
It’s been a minute since I’ve done a proper study, but some habits (and some birds) are hard to ignore.

Erintober Day 8 – Thistle & Thorn A small thistle study for a low-energy day. The Asvine ran heavier than usual, but the extra ink and a light Tombow wash gave it a soft, weathered feel — half brittle, half bloom.
(Pen: Asvine fountain pen. Ink: bottled black. Brush pens: Tombow. Sketchbook: Soul Color.)
