its so funny how bad they fumbled with the potential they had. eleven faking her death and leaving to fuck knows where with waterfalls, alone? yeah i get that its not the first time that the crew thinks she's gone, but completly alone? no friends no family, no word to anyone.
also the millitary plot is bullshit and has been al this time honestly, from the moment they introduced the soviets it all just became blatant usa propaganda based on the cold war and needing a villain. so they all saw that el died, and then. thats it? wrap it up, everybody, the shows over, our plan failed. bummer :( and what about the pregnant women laced with kali's blood? she said that its not as strong as henries but it has some effect, does it not? or they would have no reason to keep it up and waste the resources on somethiing that does not work. so the women will give birth, and the children will just go to the program and become new numbers. why did the general not know abt henry and thought that eleven was the source of the powers? did they not check the logs, the notes, anything? if they know the logic of the program they should know the origins. also okay, they had their millitary base in the upside down, and sfter they broke kali out eeeeveryone just forgot about it, how convenient, so that no one would mess with the crew running around the upside down. how and why did the millitary let them all go?
ive seen people pissed of about mike being called a nothingburger character, and im here to say that almost all the kids are shallow and empty. yes, of course i get how trauma and the fact that they didnt have a childhood affect them. but max not giving a fuck anymore about her brother and just basically becoming stereotypical female character, only basing herself and her mental status on lucas, seems so bullshit to me. will just being a little puppyeyed wonderbread with a bowlcut. mike hasnt been a character since season 3. robby becoming lobotomised, nancy is so awkward it hurts. joyce is basically a background character. and like, what could we expect? the duffers dont remember the birthday of their most crucial character, they dont know their own lore
all the things with henry and cosmic horror and the clocks and becoming one with your abuser. he was the scariest thing and then he got stabed in the back like a kebab and just died.
and how could i forget about byler. whats funny to me is yes, of coursem when you make your actors stare loningly at each other in character on camera for ten years and make such big pauses people will think that you are saying something to them. but i honectly, truly think thay they never ever gave a fuck about byler and representation. they made will differnrt - shy, small, queer and afraid, and then he got violated. because you are weak, and you were so easy to break. the duffers never tried to say something through wills queerness, especialy about him and mike, except that that truly did make him different, different enough so that he was targeted specifically, because of his shame and fear and isolation. as for mike and his reactions - either finn wolfhard is a really bad actor and all he can do is watch longingly and twith his eyebrows, or it all was baiting, especially in season 4, with an epilogue boyfriend and suffering silently about your self sacrificing girlfriend. it really is klance all over again
another show that started so so good and then just became mcu all over again, with all the funko pops, and fortnite skins, and queerbaiting, and a cast so big that it all just melted into a big pile of cgi slop. will byers, you really do deserve better.
