I'm serious about spoiling my grandchildren.
But half of you are grown up. I need lists of things to buy.
I’m not a grown up…but I want a kitten, grandpa~
Dad, please don’t get her a small animal.
And why not, Len?

… .How.
With all the press coverage it’s not all that hard to find you, Len. Did you forget my number while in space?
Been sort of busy tryin’ not to get my ass shot. I meant to call but as you can see, it’s been…hectic.
Hectic, I can see that. What happened, get attacked by your paperwork? Did inventory destroy your comm? Come on, Len. Talk to me. I flew all the way here just to see you.
Hello, crew of the Enterprise.
Seeing as Len only forgot to call me three times, I only brought three embarassing pictures.
Back when he though blonde was a good look. (It wasn’t.)
His first job. (They wouldn’t let him dye his hair thank god.)
His first beer. (That I know he snuck.)
(sigh) Isn’t he just the most adorable thing?

"What, no hug?"
"Trying to figure out where all my namesakes scattered to, sweetheart."
"Well it’s really good to see you. I thought I’d have to wait until my graduating to see you again."
"I got impatient. How've you been, Jojo? Kicking ass and taking names?"
I don’t hate you, but there’s only so many reactions to spitting in my face repeatedly, Jocelyn. Manufacture self-pity elsewhere, it has no place in my name.
… you don’t know me anymore sir. I’m not going to attempt to explain myself to a man that has his mind made up.
No, and I don't pretend to. The Jocelyn I first met didn't feel the need to insult me every way she can manage.

You’re hi- what? But you’re … you look as young as he is. Then you’ve aged well sir …Doctor McCoy.
I’m very confused.
That’s kind of you, Miss, but I’ve aged, believe me. Ole TJ McCoy didn’t show grey until he was eighty-nine, but my boy’s been on a warpath to beat that record by half a lifetime. And he’s succeeded.
Wait .. are you saying he dyes his hair? I am very interested in this information.
Also in how I can age as well as you have sir. Do I need the McCoy name? I’m prepared to do that.
No way, I'm saying he gave me grey hair long before my time. Just think, I could've put off my silver fox years for another two or three decades.
You're a doctor, you know how aging works. Take care of yourself, that's about as good as it gets.

For those of you asking why David's alive
I know its been the general headcanon that David McCoy's death is what sent Bones to Starfleet, which is fine. If you want to play him as dead, go ahead, but I personally don't believe he is. Yet.
This is mostly based on the Star Trek comics that give the reboot origins of all the characters, and Bones is shown choosing Starfleet so he can research new cures from other planets, and David McCoy is shown alive and well.
I've personally been playing him as pre-diagnosis.
He’s seen some odd things in his day. Snapping, snarling baby Gorn and beautiful green women. He’s seen grown men reduced to children, memories wiped away like something erasing a chalkboard.
But he’s never seen a ghost. Not like this.
David McCoy, living and breathing. As Leonard remembered him as a teen. Full of life and joy and boisterous laughter.
It was enough to drive a man into the bottle, remembering what happened next.
Dad? Good god! What are you doing here? (Just too excited not to notice you. But NOW I'm really offline. Btw. Thanks for following :'D)
You shaved. You're in uniform. God, I have a good looking kid.
I dropped by to remind myself I do still have a kid, Len. Hi, how are you doing? I've been doing just fine, thanks. Don't tell me you've forgotten your manners in five years. I have no qualms about disciplining your ass in front of your crew.
… care to twist the knife more Doctor?
Why interrupt when you do such a good job yourself, Jocelyn?
Push a little harder David.
It’s no surprise how happy you were when I turned out exactly like you were expecting.
You turned out the opposite of what I was expecting for the woman I entrusted my son to, so mop up the victim act, Honey.

Of course I know Dr. McCoy. I am Dr. McCoy. Leonard is my baby.
Not an evaluation, it’s more like a surprise check-up.

These days. [shakes his head with a rueful smile] Nothing makes you feel older like the phrase “people these days."
David. [he accepts the hand] Likewise.
[Nothing makes you feel older like being stuck in a tube for three hundred years, he thinks, and slips his hand back into his pocket.] ‘S true, though. Things seem t’ change faster than we c’n keep up with t’em. Just go t’ go along with th’ ride.
That's it, huh? Hang on to your hat and hope it doesn't buck you off.
My grandpa used to say that. That's how it's always been, I guess. Funny, maybe things haven't changed as much as we think.
