Which durian taste better? Hill top grade Musang king from Raub vs top grade Black thorn from Penang?
It really depends on what you're looking for in a durian. Both are very different from taste and texture. Both are excellent in their own ways. If you're a black thorn fan, the Hill top grade Musang King may not fulfill your taste buds the way you want it to!

Dr.Durian to be continued...
Regretfully, we at Dr.Durian have to annnounce a temporary closure of our Klang and SS2 outlets. This is due to the dwindling Durian supplies and this directly affects the quality of the fruits available. We foresee the next season to commence this coming April 2013. Stay tuned to this page and hashtags #DrDurian #Durian for updates!
The key people behind Dr.Durian being interviewed by TraxxFM DJ's about our King of Fruits on 4 Jan 2013, Friday.
This interview was broadcasted live on TraxxFM 90.3 at 9am and also on Astro Channel 180.

Durian Party Catering!
On 9 Dec 2012, Dr Durian (Klang outlet) successfully assisted to organize and cater to 2 durian parties. First one was held at the outlet itself and catered to about 50 people. The other was at Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (KGSAAS), Shah Alam, which started at about 630pm. There were approximately 30 people who attended the durian party. Fruits made available at the parties consisted of Musang King, Black Thorn, Tekkah, Ang Heir, D24, XO and Chim Tuk (we think in some places, this is also called "Jantung"). Also available was durian flavoured cendol (which was quite a hit) and mangosteens. We recommended "starter", "main meal" and "dessert" durians. Attendees got to sample a variety of our wonderful durians and with each "dish", the taste of the durian got stronger. That's the way to do it. Everyone enjoyed the party. We will post up some pictures soon. Do contact us if you're interested to organize such an event. We are well placed to assist you to make it a successful and enjoyable event for all.

Know Your #Durian : Daily Prices
Did you know that #Durian prices change daily? Sometimes, the #MusangKing - the current popular variety of durian can go up to RM 50 a kilo. Now you can get it for RM 10/kg at Dr.Durian outlets!
Just like most things in life, it comes down to supply and demand. Demand in Malaysia is a constant whilst the supply comes and goes, depending on the season. There was a time when durians were only available at a very specific period and practically non-existent outside of that period.
However, due to the ingenuity of our Malaysian durian orchards operators and with a lot of support from the Ministry of Agriculture, these days you can get durian almost all year round!
That being said, prices still tend to move around a bit. It also depends on where you eat it and unfortunately - it also comes down to whether the durian seller wants to milk you dry.
But not to worry! If you want fair prices, be sure to check out Dr.Durian outlets. We update our prices daily and keep to an honour code along with a bunch of other honest sellers, so you'll get awesome durians at decent prices!

Durians have heart-healthy monounsaturated fats which help to lower your levels of bad LDL cholesterol.
"Durians may be a very good source of nutrients, but they are also high in calories and carbohydrates and thus must be consumed with moderation," says Magdalin Cheong, chief dietitian, Dietetic & Food Services at Changi General Hospital.
