Trying to eat with both POTS and GERD as a neurodivergent person with a limited number of safe foods who also happens to have a genetic cholesterol disorder? Oh just fucking shoot me already.
No caffine, almost no sugar, no high-carb meals, nothing acidic, no full-fat dairy, limited red meat, limited fried foods, nothing with a lot of sauce, WHAT THE FUCK AM I SUPPOSED TO EAT?!?!?!
Can't do ANYTHING with tomatoes or citrus. Absolutely NO caffine, and my sugar intake has to be beyond minimal to avoid an adrenaline dump. No garlic, no onion. Any cheese I eat has to be VERY small. Anything with potatoes? Also minimal. I want to eat ribs, ham, beef? Sorry! Can't fucking do that. Absolutely NOTHING spicy. Every dairy product has to be fat-free so that my stomach doesn't fucking explode, and even then, I can only eat a little. Anything with peppermint is a no, can't do anything fried, so no chicken tenders, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, nothing. No vinegar, so no pickles.
That cuts out LITERALLY everything I was eating before I started dealing with this shit.
You know what I DO eat? Fat-free yogurt. Sometimes brown rice. Low-fat pretzels. AND THAT SHIT STILL LEAVES ME FEELING NAUSEOUS AS HELL.
You're probably expecting more, but no. That's basically been my diet for the last 3 months since my GERD developed. That's it.
My chronic illness is trying to give me another eating disorder I swear to fucking god 😭 I look like a god damn "almond mom" psycho anytime I'm out with my family or friends and have to avoid literally 99.9% of foods because it will set me back and leave me dealing with hours of nausea & heartburn.
