I feel strongly about a thing.
The way the Battle of the All-Stars schedule is set up is insane.
I commented on this crazy bracket in the tournament feed and someone (whom I assume works for the tournament or something?) said, "Ya know everyone complained how it was done last year too. We can't make everyone happy I guess."
This should not be brushed off that easily.
For the winners of Game 19 (in this case, New York) to leave with first place, they have to win 4 full-length bouts in a row. FOUR. With maybe 30 minutes of downtime in between each. That sounds exhausting and damn near impossible. There would have to be a Hanukkah-style miracle.

They only had enough energy for one bout, but they lasted... for four.
The possibility of a team playing this many games in a row is nuts and just plain unfair to that team. It's unacceptable. This system sets up whoever wins Games 19 and 20 for failure. The undefeated team (Pennsylvania) has had four hours of rest and they're exhausted from at least one bout.
Add in the fact that derby gets sloppy and dangerous when skaters are tired and you get a nice big clusterfuck.
Please do a better job next time, BOTAS.
Or just use WFTDA's bracket.
