One Piece — Luffy One Shot.
The entire crew was on the Going Merry having a dinner prepared by their own cook; Sanji. Luffy was the most excited one, devouring absolutely everything on his plate and of others.
The new recruit offered him her food without problem. For Luffy that was already a gigantic show of love. He does not know if it was here that he fell for her or when she lied saying that it was she who ate some extra dessert during the early morning, knowing that it was he who had gotten up to eat.
For once, someone would avoid him being hitten on the head or scolded for eating. Instead, she rather encouraged him.
— Are you still hungry, Luffy? —she said once. Luffy nodded with a wet dog face, looking at her with tender eyes—. You have to eat more. Don't worry, I will ask Sanji to give me some food.
Eventually, Sanji noticed and stopped giving the girl food out of time, but he would never forget how hard she tried to get him a little more food each day.
For Luffy, that was love. He didn't know what love was. He just knew that his heart was pounding, and he really wanted to be with his nakama all the time. When they stopped in some city and Luffy ran to any place that caught his attention, he first made sure to hold the woman's hand so they wouldn't be separated.
When she wanted to go somewhere, he would stop anything he was doing to please her.
— I wanted to visit the viewpoint —night had fallen and the crew was a few minutes away from leaving when the young woman talked, catching her captain's attention—. Well, we'll come back other moment.
Without thinking, Luffy took her hand and ran in the direction of the viewpoint listening to the complaints of Nami and Zoro in the background, saying that they better not take long. The view was magnificent, and Luffy thought it was the perfect time to finally tell the girl how he felt.
Maybe she could feel the same way.
The stars were clearly seen through the glass, surrounded by a blue sky that barely gave a slight brightness thanks to the moon. It was a full moon.
— This looks amazing! —she turned to see Luffy for a second, it was just one, and it was enough for him to realize what was happening to him. He could never forget the beautiful smile that adorned her face.
— I think I'm in love with you.
Time stood still. The seconds turned into hours as Luffy waited for an answer, a reaction at least. But his voice hadn't been loud enough.
The sound of pyrotechnics had filled everything. He felt his face burn, and filled with courage, he repeated it, screaming, making sure that this time it would not be too low.
There were no more fireworks. His voice was loud, clear, and there was nothing to overshadow it. The girl blinked a couple of times in confusion, she could even hear in the distance some sounds of surprise; the crew had listened as well.
