“Nope, nope, I’m done. Leave me here. I’m done with your shenanigans,” they took a seat in the snow, using two hands to shovel it over their legs.

He could weave his feelings into the scarves he knit and the person who wore that piece of clothing would experience them.
“Is that what you think of me? I’m insulted, really.”
“Do yourself a favor and stop comparing yourself to me.”
“I have yet to see them truly bothered. It’s incredible.”
“There was no competition. It was all you.”
“I live and breathe adventure! Excitement is my middle name!”
“Look, if I say I can’t do it, I want you to understand I don’t mean that I actually can’t. I mean that I’m unable to force myself.”
Character Idea
He watched his knight with fondness. From the gruff attempts at modesty when confronted with praise, to the quiet fondness on his face when he gently brushed his horse. The more he saw, the more he fell.
LA BELLE SAISON (2015) dir. Catherine Corsini
“Do I frighten you?” She sounded interested, more than anything, and not entirely like she meant it as a question as the protagonist’s heart rabbited under her hand. “I never used to frighten people. I was too pretty. Even when pretty is threatening, it’s never quite frightening, is it? People know that pretty doesn’t last. They know what to do with it.”
“I think you’re frightened that I pity you.”
“Oh pretty thing,” she smiled. “You’re not soft enough for that.”

Victorian era secret lesbian prompts?
1) Handsom cabs were, for the most part, uncomfortable. And then, for the rest, rather discreet. A stolen moment as the two of them sped through to the city streets, pressed close together, hands caressing, lips a flurry of affection careful that they mustn’t too greatly wrinkle their dresses before they arrived.
2) It wasn’t perhaps natural, but perhaps it was expected in the long hours they wiled away together while their husbands were away from work. Boredom turned to friendship, turned to-well, turned to something that made her heartbeat faster and that she couldn’t possibly tell anyone about. Except…“You need rest,” her husband said kindly. “For the baby. Not all this excitement and noise and distraction. The doctor’s said it would not be good for your nerves.”“[Other woman’s name] is hardly a distraction!” More to the point, she couldn’t bear not seeing her again.
3) They only dared show their affection through letters. Kept tucked away, pored over and memorized with caught breath and wide-eyes before the fire. It seemed strange that anything so cool as ink and paper could run the blood so hot - and yet there it was. Each word, intimate and scandalous beyond what anyone would ever dare say to her before, felt branded upon her soul.

She examined the trinket the human brought for her, webbed hands turning the jar in her hands. She pulled at the lid, testing it, and was pleasantly surprised when it popped right off. When the human motioned for her to lift it to her face, she frowned, but did as she was told, getting a whiff of pure lemon. Startled, she flung the ‘candle’ at the human’s feet, backing into the water with a pout when they laughed at her.
Character Idea
Their scales reflected their emotions, the very idea of ‘heart on their sleeve’. They hated it.

“Surely there are better things to do with my skills,” he suggested, typing away at his keyboard, disappointment thick in the air. His companion scoffed, leaning against his chair, slowly inching him away from the desk by accident.

“I wish I could lovingly craft the words together to describe how angry you make me,” they sighed, staring at a single person in a crowd of many others.
“For a hero,” the villain said, “you’re awfully cynical.”
“For someone who does what you do,” the hero replied, “you have an unnerving insistence in and faith for the essential goodness of humanity.”
“Of course - I see what they do at their darkest and why.”
“They say less is more, but when have I lived by that?”
“You’re under arrest for breathing the same air as I am.”
“Someone so perfect can’t possibly be a human.”
“Enough of your whining. Get up, we have to get them back for that prank.”
“Even your good ideas turn into bad ones, honestly.”
“Hey, don’t touch anything. I don’t know how stable it all is.”
Character Idea
They pulled at the long strands of their bangs, mouth twisting downwards as they stared at the length. Tempted as they were to simply cut it off and be done with it getting in their eyes, they knew they’d probably mess it up.
“Not all of it was pointless. You can’t see it that way.”
“Some of my best actions were done impulsively.”
“Brain and brawn? What don’t you have?”
“Something wrong? No, not at all! I totally wanted to get chased by a monster this morning.”
“My mad kazoo skills totally count as a talent.”
“Nothing I love more than a little bit of peace and quiet.”
“What was the purpose of coming out here so late? Nothing’s happening.”
