I promise the introductory video is coming along, but right now I’m pressed for time with the deadline for the 3D model and renders of Shantae, so I can’t devote much time to recording and editing the video. However, I’m still committed to the video and hope to have it ready in August or September.
In the meantime, here are some more WIPs of Anela. In this series of images, I’m showing the evolution of this character’s eyes before I restarted the development of the entire character.
I'm reposting an old post from my other social media accounts to breathe a little life back into my account... again (even this opening is a repost, just so you know).
In 2021, I decided to recreate my first OC and 3D model, Melody, to see how much my 3D modeling skills had improved in just over a year, since I’d learned a ton during that time (and I didn’t even have to make the famous donut).
The result is this new version of Melody, which is better optimized and has more accurate normals (basically, everything has improved).
However, looking at this 3D model almost 5 years later, there are several things I’d like to improve in this version of my OC, so after I finish the human version of Melody (which I’ll show soon), I might make a 3.0 version, because if I felt like I learned a lot in one year, just imagine how much I’ve learned in 5 years.
Anyway, these are ideas I’ll be working on over time, and I hope to share them with you very soon.
I'm still working on the presentation video for this commission, as it's turning out to be one of my most ambitious projects—I don't usually spend much time editing videos.
The reason behind this decision is that, aside from any corrections my client might request, this video could be one of the last things I do with Anela, and I want it to be something special. I’ve grown quite attached to the character over the past two years, and I feel that saying goodbye to her will hurt just as much as it would for a parent to see their child become independent as they grow into a functioning adult.
But anyway, while I continue filming and editing the video, I’ll keep sharing WIPs from the commission until I have nothing left to show.

I’m reposting an old post from my other social media accounts to breathe new life into this account, because I still have no idea what else to share.
Although it’s going to be a very long time before I can play Star Fox for Nintendo Switch 2, I can still enjoy Star Fox 64 3D on my Nintendo 3DS (which is the same thing, but cheaper, as Dr. Simi would say), so I’m taking this opportunity to show off my recreation of the Arwing from Star Fox: Assault, my favorite game in the franchise.
This is another 3D model I want to redo once I find the time. I just hope the monthly poll to create Low Poly 3D characters doesn’t interfere too much with other projects I want to work on.

It all started as a project I came up with to close my personal Facebook account, which involved creating Low Poly 3D models for my friends on that platform. They tell me what they want me to make, and I do my best to bring their ideas to life. I started by reaching out to a few people, and my cousin was the first to respond.
She asked me to make a Mitsubishi Eclipse, and, quite conveniently, her birthday was coming up. But there were a few obstacles: I hadn’t asked what color or shape she wanted the car to be, I’d never made a 3D model of a real car before, I had to do it all in Low Poly style, and I could never get the reference images to line up properly with what I wanted to create. So what did I do? Something very Mexican: improvise as I went along.
It took some sacrifices to at least keep it under 3,000 Tris, such as the wheels. Fortunately, I managed to give the car a nice finish even though it’s certainly not an exact replica of the second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse (that was the one that caught my eye the most, and it helped a lot to have the blueprints for that vehicle almost immediately when I started researching). After the failure of trying to make it look like a project straight out of the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 1 era, I told myself there was no point in continuing to adhere to the technical limitations of both consoles when it came to textures, so I stuck with the idea of creating low-resolution textures, but definitely not at resolutions suitable for use on either of those consoles.
Still, I don’t really regret not achieving that Low Poly style I was chasing because, aside from wanting to prioritize a good silhouette and finish, breaking free from those limitations allowed me to create additional details like the license plates, as well as add more detail to the lights and the rear of the car.
I'm not sure whether to make the 3D model public so people can download it, since it's a birthday gift for a cousin who's a bit... complicated. Still, it’s already rigged and the lights even work, since I’d also planned to make an animation for my cousin’s birthday featuring the Mitsubishi Eclipse with Sheryl Crow’s “Real Gone” as the background music (yes, the same song that plays in the first few minutes of Cars), but I didn’t have time, so I’ll do it later (unless I lose interest or forget about it).
Embracing the fact that the 3D model looks more like something straight out of the Sega Dreamcast, I decided to create a render that mimics the art style of racing game boxes from that console, and that also looks like a scanned image.
For the second render, I wanted to show the back of the car as it faced a sunset (I like sunsets and dusk), and I also wanted it to look like a scanned poster from a video game promo. When I combined both renders, I realized that the fictional game I made up to give the Mitsubishi Eclipse renders some backstory and visual context could very well be something like Burnout: Paradise for the Sega Dreamcast (because they look like they’re set in an open world, and I prefer racing games that are more Arcade-style)
Thank you very much for checking out these renders! 💖

While I continue working on the promotional video for this commission, which I’ve been working on for almost two years (I swear I’m faster at working on commissions now, xc), I thought it would be a good idea to revitalize some of my social media accounts by posting the progress I’ve made in developing this character over all those months.
In July 2024, a user named Lucas-Stl asked me on DeviantArt if he could commission me to make two of his characters, one of whom you’ll see here often: Anela. She’s an angel with the ability to reset moments, but at the cost that, every time she does so, one of the feathers on her wings corrodes, turning black as night.
I chose to make this character first because I like women (yes, it’s that simple xp), but I never imagined at the time that this commission would take up so much of my life as something I had to do (almost everything I do, I do because I want to and without any pressure whatsoever). Between my inexperience with creating characters, hair, necklaces, wings, shoes, and so on, not to mention everyday, academic, and financial problems, I was only able to complete this commission just last month.
I’m infinitely grateful to Lucas-Stl for his patience throughout this long period of time, and for becoming a friend as well.
Something I didn't expect was that, throughout the entire process of developing Anela, I ended up growing fond of her, and I hope you will too when Lucas-Stl begins to tell her story with this and his other characters.
As I continue to show more of Anela’s development, I’ll be sharing more information with you about what it was like to create her and everything she went through until her final version (which looks way better than the one I’m showing now), so stay tuned for that.
