So I thought this video was a really great way to turn the tables and show people that this is exactly what Robin Thicke’s video is doing with women, now how do you like it when it’s the other way around. I don’t support the “women are better than men, etc” idea. The subjugation of men is no better than that of women. However, I don’t think that is the point of this video. It’s simply showing people how wrong this is by showing it done towards men (for the bigots who cannot see it when done towards women).
Robin Thicke said that he knew his video was degrading to women, but it was fine because he and the other male vocalists were married with children and that he respected women. That is absolute bullshit. The song and video still propagate the idea of rape culture. Whether that was the original intention or not does not matter.
