I think some anti-Bamons just don't want to admit how similar Bonnie and Damon are in some ways.

Her deciding not to tell Jeremy that there wasn't a way to save her at the end of S5 when the other side was going down and then waiting to tell him that over the phone when it was too late to do anything or even see her in person? Total Damon move.

Bonnie agreeing to put Klaus in Tyler's body without telling anyone or even consulting Tyler first at the end of S3? Damon move.

Let's not forget her agreeing to Damon's plan at the 60's dance to fake her death even with knowing how much pain it would cause Elena.

She often makes choices for others or forms her own plan without consulting the group and has no guilt over it just like Damon. They are both willing to make hard decisions for the ones they love and accept the consequences of it rather than listen to what others may want. They are also often the ones spearheading the plan of the day for whatever the current crisis is. Bonnie and Damon are responsible for the whole plan to save the day at the end of S5 and were the two who put themselves in positions to sacrifice themselves for it.

The way I just cant read bamon friendship only stuff. I read one and it was a one shot…felt like I wanted to scream “JUST KISS!” Like reading it made me feel like this:

I used to think enemies to lovers was my favourite dynamic, but after looking at my ships I can confidently say that friends who have no boundaries, are completely obsessed with each other, are basically already dating, will let the world burn down for the other, and are too clueless to realize they’re in love to actually still just friend because by the time they realized their feelings one of them has moved on/died is my favourite dynamic

Ok yes but what if, BOTH. They are the kind of friends who would die for each other, who would fight tooth and nail against the entire world so the other is happy and safe but they act like they hate each other. Pretend to have this weird and frankly stupid rivalry. They're childish, call each other names, make fun of each other. What they won't say out loud is they one would and will and DID go after the other into that super dangerous, very likely they'll die sort of situation, because "I need to keep your stupid ass safe, duh".
