Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4
Katsuki soared through the clouds at a lazy pace, letting the wind buffet his wings as he hovered, giving Izuku ample opportunity to see the way the sun made the white sheet of clouds glow, the round, blue perfection of the sky, the delicate line of the river snaking through the forest below. He could he hear him laughing up there, on his back, and as much as he wanted to crane his neck back and see the princeâs beautiful smile, he kept his eyes focused ahead on giving him a steady ride, banking slowly to turn and show him even more of what the world had to offer. Facing this way, Izuku could no doubt see the mountains, the sun reflecting a warm yellow glow onto the shining white ice, the shadows a deep, purplish blue, like a royal robe enveloping their broad, rocky shoulders.
He leaned down next, taking them below the clouds and towards the forest at an easy angle, then pulled his wings up to catch the air and float just over the tall tips of the pine trees. A group of geese in perfect v-formation flew by, squawking to themselves as they veered out of the way of the dragon. Over the forest they flew until they approached the mountains, and Katsuki picked up just enough altitude to stay above the rocky cliffs as he veered around towards the valley between his mountain and the next, knowing the most wonderful sight of all was just around the bend.
There, tumbling down the mountainside into the forest that crept up from the valley below, was the source of the river: a massive waterfall. The rumbling sound filled the air as they flew closer, Izuku able to take in the deep blue column that faded into white streaks and finally misted out into a dazzling cloud of rainbow-reflecting droplets where it met the riverbed below. Katsuki flew slow and careful, passing by it once before doubling back even closer and titling so the tip of his wing cut through the falling water, sending a spray of droplets onto the prince. A proud draconian chuckle rumbled from his chest at the playful scream and ensuing giggles that filled his ears, just barely audible over the waterfall, and he finally made to circle back to the cave.
