REAL STORY: When I was young, I told my family I wanted to learn more about Mexico than “tequila, mariachi, and the traditional clothing”, which I assumed was just based on American stereotypes (again, I was young). Where am I from? Guadalajara in Jalisco. Home of tequila, mariachi, and traditional clothing (including sombreros). Jalisco’s state motto? “Jalisco es Mexico.”
