“I know bread.” Remi looked over her shoulder at Drew, offering her a smile. Usually, she’d go to the bakery, but that proved to be far too expensive for her budget. “What else am I supposed to get?” She figured she should do the grocery shopping for once, since Ronan usually did. “Tomatoes or something?”

“Depends on what you want -- do you cook, or prefer things to heat up?” Drew herself did a mixture of both, depending on what mood she was in. “They’ve a lot of good, fresh stuff but also quick pick me ups.”

“Amazing,” Salem said simply. “And on this day, I am blessed,” he continued, reaching up to grab her hands and using her support to get himself up off the damp pavement. “Are you my fairy godmother?”

“Or just really lucky that I felt like getting McDonald’s. I could take the fairy godmother title though.” A small grin spread over her face as she helped settle him onto his feet. “You’re not a puker are you? Because I need a heads up.”

“It’s not really hard to spell, it’s just an atypical way of spelling something so simple. I usually just say Dayzie and then they spell it like everyone else in the world does, which doesn’t bother me ‘cause they’d probably spell it wrong even if I tried to tell them anyways,” the girl explained with a small shrug. “Yeah, actually I heard something about Starbucks using that as marketing strategy, basically. Employee spells your name wrong, you feel the need to tell everyone on social media, boom, advertisement.”

“I wouldn’t be surprised if they do that either.” Drew chuckled. “Late nights and lots of coffee -- you end up on the weird parts of the internet, and I’ve read a few starbuck’s conspiracy theories -- some actually make sense, but the rest you’re sure people have been smoking a little too much.”

“I’ve dressed as Jay Gatsby every single halloween since I was sixteen,” Winston confessed. It was true. So many photos of the young man in a suit with a bullet hole in his chest existed, it was almost a joke, “So, no, I’m not particularly panicked about what to wear to this thing. How about you?”

“I’ve never really been to a proper halloween party.” Drew shrugged her shoulders, that being the gods honest truth. “It wasn’t that I didn’t see the point, there just wasn’t really a lot where I come from.” The blonde realised she was babbling too much about herself and smiled. “Maybe a witch though -- or is that too generic?”

“Well anything that pops into my brain is about animals, and I don’t really know what your target audience is.” Drew sighed and played with the ends of her hair. “You could talk about the importance of not breeding your cats and dogs but again --  could be boring. Maybe just stick to a celebrity -- isn’t brangelina big right now?”

“Tonight, is definitely going to be a movie night. I mean they’re playing Hocus Pocus and although it may not be a real horror film, it’s beyond one of my favorite Halloween movies. Anyone care to join me for some popcorn, junk food, and a night of the less scary Halloween films?”

“I don’t think I’ve seen that one -- most of my movie knowledge doesn’t extend beyond rom-coms or movies with dogs.” Drew grinned slightly and shrugged her shoulders. “I wouldn’t reject the offer, as long as you had hershey’s.”

“I fucking hate grocery shopping,” she sighed, throwing a loaf of bread into the basket she’d been pushing around. “So boring.”

“That’s why I offered to help you -- you didn’t really look to enthusiastic and everyone kind of needs bread for sustenance.” Drew padded close behind the girl. “You picked a good type of bread though, good job.”

“Will you hold this for me?” Ivy didn’t so much hold her drink out as shove it into the hands of the person nearest her without bothering to look up and check whether she knew them. She’d noticed a spot on her left shoe–two pairs of heels had been ruined already this year at parties, and she wasn’t about to lose her brand new Jimmy Choos. Thankfully, upon pulling the heel off her foot and inspecting it more closely, it turned out to be only a piece of orange confetti. This bar had decided to really get into the Halloween spirit, apparently. “Can you imagine cleaning this place up when they close?” she said with a sour expression as she took the drink back. “People are so filthy.”

Mostly Drew had wandered off and out of her apartment because she was lonely. Constant social isolation and double guessing everyone she chose to talk to was getting frustrating -- a feeling that came around every couple of months. She ordered herself a straight coke -- something that got herself a frown from the bartender -- and watched into the crowd of people dancing and drinking their worries away. Drew raised her eyebrows when a drink was quickly shoved and taken out of her hands, a small chuckle leaving her after she sipped her drink. “I can’t really see the ground right now, but I’ve felt my shoes sticking to something and that frightens me.”

Valentina watched the girl as she glanced under her books and around the area she had been sitting in before nodding, “Yeah I’m sure someone else probably just took them,” she let out a small sigh before taking a seat for a moment at the table in order to set her things down as she began to check her purse again. “They are important yes. My parents got them for me for my birthday. I mean, it isn’t like they were something super sentimental, but still,” she let out a small laugh and glanced up at the girl, “It’s mainly that I don’t want my parents to get mad because I lost another pair of designer sunglasses. You know?”

Drew remembered the exact date of the last time she spoke to her parents, and it was close to hitting the two year mark. She tried to distance herself from them as much as possible, as to not expose her identity to anyone potentially bugging their phones, and to not upset herself too much. The blonde smiled and nodded, trying to relate to the other girl as much as possible. “I once lied about forgetting to feed my fish because I didn’t want my mom to get upset and think I wasn’t being responsible, so I can relate on some level.” She chuckled and rubbed her arm anxiously. “Do they get really mad? Surely you can get them replaced if you really need them.”

“Drive me? Incredible. I didn’t know that people still did that. I hear that milennials don’t drive,” he replied. “But that would be so helpful, honestly. I feel like I’m dying and I probably wouldn’t make it home alive.”

Drew chuckled and fixed her hair into a ponytail before holding out her hands to the man. “I’ll even help you up from the floor, because I’m that anti-milennial.” In all honesty she was just trying to make sure he didn’t get himself into any more trouble than he already probably had.

Swinging the bottle to her lips, Elena took a large gulp of it. The alcohol was warm down her throat, contrasting against the cold October breeze of that night. She was at all certain where she was, but someone told her there was a small bonfire gathering, and she got drug there. But she only knew one person, hence why shespend the evening curled in a blanket by the fire. Shiftingon her seat to find abetter position, she felt something in her pocket, and instantly remembered the photos she had put there to throw away as soon as she could. Green eyes staring at the dancing fire, she didn’t even look up at the other person that just arrived. “Let’s burn bad memories. I have something that needs to disappear before I get my brand new start.”

It almost sent Drew a little bit back in time seeing the girl in front of the fire, the blonde having done something similar years ago -- before she became Drew. She didn’t know why she’d agreed to come, usually keeping a bit of distance between herself and anyone else. That got boring after a while though, so Drew agreed and had gotten ready. A bottle of water in hand, Drew chewed her lip and toyed with her words before speaking. “Well -- I’ve nothing left to burn I don’t think. But I fully support whatever you want to get rid of.” She offered a small smile and padded closer to soak up the warmth. “Anything in particular? Photos of an ex?” She didn’t normally pry, as Drew herself hated people who did, but naturally she was curious.

“I’m not going to lie, I’m fucking trashed,” Salem said, letting his head fall back against the brick wall next to the pub he’d just been booted from. “Walk me home and I’ll owe you one. Owe you three, even.”

Drew herself didn’t drink much -- maybe the odd glass of wine or two by herself, but never in public. She was worried about what would slip out of her mouth if she wasn’t in complete control of herself, and that was the last thing the blonde needed. When she heard the obviously inebriated mans voice, Drew chewed her lip. “How far are you? My car’s a couple blocks away -- I can drive you.”

“Please tell me I left a pair of Versace sunglasses on this table. I swear, my dad is going to kill me if I lost another pair,” she let out a heavy sigh, glancing around the area for them before shaking her head.

Drew chewed her lip and moved around some of her books, hoping to help the distressed girl. “I’m sorry -- I don’t think I remember seeing anything left behind. I would’ve taken it straight to the receptionist if I had -- ‘re they important to you?” She raised her eyebrows slightly and looked up.

    The dark attitude that always lingered under Genie’s outer display didn’t often get the better of her, but when it did, she usually felt remorse immediately. This was no different – the true smile that the brunette received despite her unintentionally harsh tone only made her feel worse. “Um,” Genie blinked, having for a second distracted herself. “Yeah, no, thank you. It- It’s my keys… I can’t get to my car, my room, anything.”

Hardly did Drew ever hold grudges against people -- even when they’d wronged her, she always found some way to forgive them. The same went for not receiving such a great introduction, but Drew was easily able to put herself in the other girls shoes. “Do you’ve somewhere important to be?” She spoke softly and pushed the sleeves of her sweater up. “Luckily for you I lose something at least once a day, so I’m pretty good at finding things if you need any help.” A small grin spread over her face, hoping that maybe she could ease some of the girls anxieties.
