i’m ready to watch rafe grovel 😖 the angst is gonna be so good. like him still being upset over her “betrayal” but also still being helplessly in love with her and not being able to fully comprehend his emotions. and he sees her around on the island, wanting to go over to talk and apologize but he’s too stubborn to do so, even though he knows it’s killing him being apart from her. and everyone around him can see the noticeable change in his demeanor and behavior; especially barry, and he confronts rafe about offering to talk, but it’s too much for rafe to think about. because all he can think about is how much he regrets breaking up with her. and he hates going back home now; because everything there reminds him of sofia so he spends most nights sleeping on barry’s couch instead.

jesse was so annoying omg i couldn’t stand him. his death? completely forgettable. they def switched things up from the game bc back then i mourned jesse and cheered when mel died but in the show? mel was a sweetheart. precious. her death actually hurt. also that whole ellie vs seraphites scene? so unnecessary. they really could’ve put that scene of ellie and dina hugging at the theatre after ellie kills mel and owen instead of that shi we got. like be serious.

i have no words. this episode was insane. it was beautiful seeing joel and ellie together, building such a strong father daughter bond… but it was also cruel and heartbreaking watching that relationship slowly fall apart. gonna go touch some grass and remind myself they’re not real people or im gonna start crying again.

about the porch scene, i wanted it to be in the final episode of season three, we all did. but damn, when joel said that “i love you,” it shattered me into a million pieces. and honestly? i couldn’t care less that they put the porch scene now. that moment hit.

and pedro pascal, oh pedrito… what can i even say? thank you for portraying one of my favorite characters with so much love, passion, and talent. you gave us a version of joel that many hadn’t seen before, a full on dad mode joel. thank you for that, and thank you for being such a brilliant artist. i already missed seeing you every sunday… now i’ll miss you even more.
