POV Wolfwood and Vash find you frying in the desert suns....
Finished this in time for the announcement of Trigun Stampede season 2!!!! I changed their designs a bit by mashing the 1998 and stampede versions of them.
hey can we as a trigun fandom have a chat real quick? iknow i've been mostly negative towards stargaze myself but i think by this point the levels of hate in the main tags have reached its peak. and with the recent tumblr-wide fuckup and all the talk about fandom and community i feel like it's time we do some local organizing, don't ya think?
i've been inspired by @lazurustaxa, who have suggested the following:
❌ don't tag negative stargaze posts under main tags (such as #trigun #trigaze #trigun stargaze and variations thereupon)
✅ do tag under #stargaze critique
now listen. im a hater myself and a gleeful one at that, and at least a couple parts of me have the inescapable urge to start shit, to make eeeeveryone see my takes. but that's the devil speaking!! people who are enjoying themselves this season aren't gonna hate it cause of someone else's opinion, but they sure as hell gonna grow sick and tired seeing you (and me) shit on a show that was ultimately the reason why this fandom has grown so large! so. let's do our fellows a solid and go bitch to one another in our own tag so that the two sides don't end up completely blocked by one another (which is a thing you should do btw, for your own sanity, but i see the hesitation when you might still wanna see the person's posts on unrelated themes or on other trigun canons)
if you've read this far and found this compelling, please share this post!! especially if you're someone already posting trigaze negative posts, be that measured critique or unadulterated hate. spread the word to your mutuals and like-minded people, make a post relaying the same message (no credit nessesary) that way we can establish one big tag that is separate from the rest
also wanna discuss a couple other points. I still think it is natural, nessessary even to have critiques in maintags as well! but it's very defficult to draw the line between constructive and destructive criticism, and right now there's too much of the latter. i will be posting some critique in the main tags in the future, because even people asking haters to keep away from maintagging are not saying no to genuine criticisms that are not putting anyone down, be that the audience or the studio. for example, i think it's important to keep talking about prevalent colorism in stampgaze, but there's a difference between saying "here are all the instances of whitewashing and here is why that is harmful" and "they better give whitewood his melanin back or I'll kill toho execs myself". obviously the latter is always meant as a joke, but that is in no way constructing and doesn't even delve into the real problem (light-skinned anime men aren't real. non-fictional people of color are, both light- and darkskinned)
but yeah, if we can manage to establish a separate tag that would remove some of the tension i think. obviously not everyone is gonna comply and i don't expect em to (plus im not a cop. in the end it's still just words on the internet and both haters and enjoyers can just go touch grass if they're that sick of one another), but tis just a nice thing to do. i myself am enjoying stargaze greatly, which doesn't conflict with my disdain for it since i derive joy from picking things apart, but what i'm not enjoying is making people upset and loose interest in trigun, that's why it's important to me to get this message out
Just for some added context no one asked for I like to think Harry at some point has a gym/training room in Oscorp specifically for the gang to come use if they want to, mostly used by him and Peter. Sometimes they’ll spar to help Harry hone his hand-to-hand combat skills, and even though Peter takes it super, super, super easy on him, that’s still a wholeass Spider-Man, so Harry can almost never beat him. But when he does he earns bragging rights for weeks
