Last week I reviewed a study released by the CDC on Sexual Orientation and Health Among U.S. Adults (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr077.pdf ). Within this study there are some very interesting findings about the prevalence, or lack thereof, of people in the United States that who...
Psalms Life is time spent in acting on perspectives. Our expression, activity, thoughts and desires constitute the intent of our heart. The book of Psalms, while written in form better understood by a bygone era, is a collection of expression, a hymnal of sorts, poetry crafted to convey and...
2 Samuel 11–12; Psalm 51
This week was met with some bitter-sweet news and varying reactions from interested members of the church as a sacred process (church discipline) that is generally conducted confidentially for the benefit of the member involved was made public by a high...
1 Samuel 18–20; 1 Samuel 23–24
Recently there has been a great deal of media about church disciplinary hearings, the disparity between individual belief and action and that of the Church, its doctrine and practice of willing adherence to the revealed word of Father. As I was reading and...
1 Samuel 9–11; 1 Samuel 13; 1 Samuel 15–17 This week as I was beginning to study material for this lesson, a friend and convert to the church posted question on facebook that I thought was really important. So important that I wrote the longest series of posts I have ever written to...
Judges 2; Judges 4; Judges 6–7; Judges 13–16
We are always, it seems, or generation or less away from potential apostasy. The book of judges, a historical recording of the period that Israel was ruled by 12 sequential judges following Joshua, is attributed as written by Samuel but no official...
Joshua 1-6; 23-34
As we move forward from the Ministry of Moses to that of Joshua, a couple of interesting notes of latter-day revelation. The KJV of the bible says that Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo and died and was buried according to the word of the Lord...
Numbers 22-24, 31:1-16
We all have aspirations, wants, desires for the niceties of this world. But what are we willing to do to get them… work hard, take from our neighbors, rationalize a departure from integrity, go against truth given of Father? The lesson of Balaam and Balak is a tragedy of...
Priesthood keys direct women as well as men, and priesthood ordinances and priesthood authority pertain to women as well as men.
Over the years I have been blessed to listen to the inspired words of the Lord’s anointed. I love general conference and was happy the see the Priesthood session broadcast for all to see and listen to live for the first time. Elder Oaks talk was amazing. It was the clearest, well delivered direction as what Priesthood authority keys and power are, to whom and how they may be conferred and to whom that authority is delegated to for the benefit of and blessing of all of Father’s children.
In light of the focus of priesthood authority, ordinances, blessings and use that have been a thread of my comments about our Old Testament study I thought I would post a link to his talk for those who are either interested in Priesthood authority or would like a clear understanding as to how our church views the topic.

May we realize how close to us He is willing to come, and how far He is willing to go to help us.
