Career Transitioning: Things to Remember
In my leadership coaching practice, I facilitate the following six-step process for individuals who are seeking to transition into another career:
1. Find a way to get rid of the clutter...all of those preconceived notions that you may have about a career..AND all of the obstacles that you may think are standing in your way.
Question: What opportunities are available to you?
2. Review your personality traits, and your management and leadership styles...thinking long and hard about the kind of person you are now and the kind of person you want to be in the future.
Question: Which careers match your traits and styles?
3. Then assess your career selections in your preferred geographic locations against the US Dept of Labor's job outlook data.
Question: Can you make a living in that line of work (and in that location)?
4. Know what KSAs are required for that career and if you do not already have them, develop a strategy to acquire them.
Question: What does it take to be successful in that career?
5. Seek out those career opportunities! Follow your strategy and let nothing and no one stand in your way, remembering to continuously clear the clutter!
Question: Will you allow anyone or anything to stop you?
6. Don't stop there! Reach higher....stretch....so you will be prepared for the next opportunity that comes along!
Question: What's the next step for you and will you be ready?
With these simple steps, a lot of hard work, and determination...you can achieve your goal! Good luck!

Innovation is a paradox for most of us. On the one hand you are well aware that you have to take new roads before you reach the end of the present dead end street. On the other hand it is risky. It takes a lot of time. And it takes a lot of resources. Research shows that only one out of seven innovation projects is successful. I like to share with you six simple concepts from my practice as innovation facilitator that enable you to become a better innovator at the front end of innovation.

The way I´d like to define happiness has nothing to do with daydreaming, trying to escape reality, or seeing life through rose-colored glasses. In fact, I consider happiness and the well-being of people as a fundamental human right.

Athletes, business people, and even families need motivation to succeed. Life’s challenges seldom wane, and often come unexpectedly, so digging deep for inspiration is especially important during tough times.
Motivation is KEY!!!!!!!!

Creating a personal marketing plan is not simply a mental exercise. Take the time to record the plan and refer to it at least once a quarter to ensure that you are staying on task.
As a marketing professor, I highly endorse personal marketing plans for everyone!
Life will never allow you to know how things are going to turn out ahead of time, so trying to control every outcome is futile (not to mention exhausting). Much better then, to go exploring with a sense of curiosity, playfulness and integrity.
