freaking out about the passage of time (on the train back from nyc, ofc) because i decided to shuffle my liked songs on spotify, and seventeen by peach pit played for the first time in forever.

this was my top song of the year when i was 17. it doesn’t feel that long ago but it also feels like a million years ago

i made an ungodly amount of vegan split pea soup for a potluck dinner party last night, like double the necessary amount, so now i have split pea soup for the next million years (luckily it freezes well)

anyway i had a huge bowl of it as an early lunch, (not to toot my own horn but its delicious), and i am SO FULL there is so much fiber in peas.

i am literally full of soup

ps: pro tip, for anyone kosher/halal/vegetarian/vegan or just avoiding pork like i do, smoked paprika and white miso paste make an excellent substitute for the traditional ham whilst maintaining the smoky umami flavor that is characteristic of split pea soup. it’s a very economical, nutritious, and delicious dish that cooks very quickly

i forgot that you can go to cosmetology schools to get beauty services done for not a million dollars, and it also goes towards the student stylist’s education so it’s a win win
