The big difference between the Percy Jackson movies and show:

Percy Jackson movies: *makes changes that actively confuse me as a fan of the books* Did the people making the movies actually read the books or did they just read the Wikipedia synopsis and wing the rest of it?

Percy Jackson show: *makes changes that make absolute sense to me as a fan of the books and actually improves on the source material* Demonstrating Percy's fatal flaw in a way that has real repercussions, giving more focus to Annabeth and Luke and changing their dynamic to be more sibling-esque, amplifying the Percy and Thalia parallels, fleshing out characters and emphasizing their backstories, "boon".

Rick’s ADHD writing

It’s kinda sad that he forgot abt the whole demigods have ADHD thing bc I think it’d be rlly interesting to see it in anyone besides Percy and Leo. Like Annabeth leaves cabinet doors open without meaning too, Nico gets spacey (I head cannon him as inattentive ADHD), Piper forgets things everywhere, but instead all our attention is pushed to Percabeth or random bosses/plotlines that feel more like filler. Don’t get me wrong, HoO has a special place in my heart, but this aspect has always bugged me.

Annabeth is designed to show how girls experience ADHD differently than boys. It takes a while for Percy to understand this since Annabeth is academically gifted, but that's to mirror the general lack of understanding about ADHD in girls at the time the PJO books were coming out. Maybe now it doesn't seem so special, but it used to be very good and important representation.

I suppose in HoO the focus is on other differences in the characters' experiences and perspectives. Percy and Leo have the most commonly recognizable and outwardly obvious symptoms, while the others are comparatively unremarkable.
