💫: HELLO FELLOW SELF-SHIPPERS AND OC X CANON ENJOYERS !! are you also in the lackadaisy fandom and are also bummed out about the drought in x reader fanfics and blogs?? well youre in luck because im also both these things and looking for something to do in order to not go insane these next semesters. im not a super experienced/skilled writer by any means, but i have a lot of thoughts to share and enjoy writing short silly things for fun! if you would like to see your ideas fleshed out a little or maybe just chat about them with someone else, then how about sending an request? 

General rules

✯ before requesting something, please check my bio to see if requests are open! this is both to avoid being overwhelmed with reqs or just an indicator im inactive at the time, either way, if you send something while my inbox is closed you're likely to get ignored 

✯ try not to be too vague about what you want, basic example: specifications on if its a romantic scenario or a platonic one. this avoids confusion and my suffering while i have to keep making things up along the way and stressing out on if im writing something i wasnt asked to

Rocky Rickaby x gn!Reader

•Having a slowburn situation with Rocky is interesting to think about, as Rocky isn't really someone I see going slow about anything. Any relationship with Rocky is a rollercoaster of emotions, but it's not impossible to imagine something going slower.

•You've seen each other a few times now, only from a distance. Maybe you're a regular either at the cafe or at the speakeasy, or maybe you even work there, but for whatever reason there's never been an opportunity to talk. 

•It's hard to miss Rocky in a crowd, and you've certainly interested him too with the amount of times he's seen your face in the vast sea of people frequenting the Lackadaisy in its glory days. Eventually, the stars align and you two finally get to meet.

•Rocky is the type of person to get infatuated with people really quickly, once you’ve caught his eye, there’s no going back. Especially if you are someone that matches his levels of energy and eccentricities. But if you aren't as social as him, don't fret! Rocky can and will do all the talking for the both of you, as long as you can handle him and enjoy his company just as he enjoys yours, you two will be great. A friendship with Rocky is pretty effortless as long as you give him the time of day.

•It doesn't necessarily start as something romantic, it's just this platonic crush sort of situation that makes him constantly seek you out. The both of you get to a point where you can consider each other friends.

•-And he doesn't have that many friends, so after a while of being like this, your kindness and patience towards him ought to pay off, and it doesn't take that much longer for him to start going a little insane over you.

•Considering Rocky’s feelings are probably a lot more fast paced than yours, he's likely to be the first to fall into the pit of doom and eternal yearning, doesn't matter if he's first or second though, it’ll hit him like a truck either way. Even if he doesn't realize he's fallen in love yet, his change in behavior is very noticeable to anyone outside, that is, slightly obsessive. 

•He wants to know everything about you, where you're from, your interests, your life story. Not in a stalker way, but in a “he can't get enough of you” way. He could hear you talk and talk all day, a melody sweeter than anything he could play. 

•He's not exactly sure what to do about it next. He'd be so oblivious on whether you like him back or not, partly because he can't imagine you ever looking at him that way. He would 100% pester Freckle about it non-stop, either by just talking about you or constantly asking for advice, of which his cousin has none. 

•He’d do anything and everything to impress you and make you smile/laugh, and of course, he'd be more than glad to do whatever you ask of him. He lights up like a Christmas tree any time you reciprocate and show affection. I also think he'd get a lot more protective/jealous over you, Rocky is certainly not intimidating on a surface level, but vague, crazy eyed insinuations of murder can get the meek folk to back off, not that you'd ever find out.

•He’s not much of a romantic, at least not in the traditional sense. There'd be a lot of poems written, which he'd be too scared to show you, but at least you get to hear the violin pieces he dedicates to you. His theatrics level up when it comes to you, he would use a ton of flowery language that you can't get yourself to tell him you don't understand, and looks forward to complimenting you on anything. He’s very cryptic about it, as he is with all other things.

•From this derives the confusion of it all. All of this dancing around the wording and saying a whole lot of things but never quite getting to the point, you start to get confused about things. Sure, you notice he's gone a bit more dramatic about it all, but you don't get why it happened yet. At this point, it's up to you to catch on to what is going on and make your move. 

•Let's just hope you're confident enough to go for it, or else you can say hello to many many months of a will-they-won't-they that drives everyone around you crazy. It's not like that for you two, though. It's that giddy, sort of puppy love, the type of crush you'd get on a classmate or a childhood friend. And if you don't mind the messiness that comes with being in his life, maybe you two can be good for each other.
