Reconnecting
I moved to Davis California a year ago, with the urging of family following the passing of my wife and partner of 39-years. I’m now living in suburbia surrounded by agribusiness. The loss of connections with ‘plant kin’ of wild places I visited almost every day for 7 years combined with the near absence of wild plants to connect with here in Davis are almost as traumatic as the loss of my wife.
Here I’ll be sharing my pictures of wild beauty that I find in and near Davis, and as I work on connecting with local wild plants I’ll post occasional poems, stories and other bits-and-bobs on culture that can nurture harmony and connection within the “wild jumble of plants and people from around the world” that we now have here in Davis and the lower Sacramento Valley.
