Work continues at Kent Social Service this #WorkInProgress Wednesday. This meaningful project will give Kent Social Services the resources they need to serve over 200,000 meals in-house including 200 meals on Thanksgiving alone. The updated food pantry will create a dignified experience for the 2,400 visitors who are served here annually. This past week we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act. On a recent trip to Chicago we visited the Pullman National monument which is a story of American opportunity. Some pullman workers found success, while others found opportunity limited by race, gender, economic status, or position.
