You may be a graffiti writer or street artist that hides in the shadows and wants to take over some corporate high visibility ad spaces. You may be a member of the public who just wants to open corporate ad spaces in the city and remove the offending advertisements. Or you may be an activist that wants to raise awareness of your struggle by using the advertising space as a way of reaching the public. Whatever your reason, one thing is clear: a city with fewer ads, more public art and a mixture of stories and voices in public space is a healthier and more representative city.
Within this manual is a selection of the research and practices that have been created by artists in several countries around the world who have worked hard to learn about these spaces, find the keys, test the processes and develop easy, risk-free ways to take over these ad spaces. Essentially we have done the hard work so you don’t have to.
Thanks to globalisation, you can now spend around £12, and get access to over 100,000 ad spaces across the world. Over the last few years Brandalism, PublicAdCampaign, Special Patrol Group and other friends around the world have installed thousands of artworks in ad spaces in various countries.

Call Your representatives and senators. Light a fire under their ass. Call either once or twice a week. Let them know you're not happy. No matter who your rep is call them, blue or red
Attend protests. Any ones you can fine. 50501 has one on the 19th and it's nationwide but look for ones in your area. There are more that you might think.
Print flier and tape them around your town. Choose a simple message and either make some of your own or find some online you can use, there are plenty of options
Call your friends and family, even the more distant ones. Talk to people. Don't be rude but don't let people pretend this is normal and don't let them pretend it is either
Look for local groups. Check any fliers in your town. If there are none look at your library or ask around on your Facebook; or even in person. Talk to people in your town. This will get you farther than you might think, and local groups often do the post in resisting
Attend town halls and town meetings to both keep informed and because local grassroots movements often speak here and if there's a speaker that resonates with you talk to them after the meeting is over and ask about what you can do to help or any organizations they're a part of
Donate money, if you have it-And I don't mean to random gofundme's or posts on social media, I mean donate to actual reputable organizations
Talk to people; Tell them what you are doing to help and ask them the same. A lot of people do want to help but don't know how
Social media is not activism-Nothing you do on social media is activism. Maybe if you're famous or a celebrity it can be, but you are neither of those things, so if you want to make a difference you need to log off.
Don't let yourself be paralyzed with indecision; doing nothing is the worst thing you can do right now and it's what this current regime wants. You don't need to do everything, but you need to do something
I cannot stress enough to you that all American government agencies are falling apart at the seams right now and they will not be put back together for the foreseeable future. EPA DHS ED VA FDA NIH IRS CDC HHS NPS etc... Elon Musk is dismantling everything. Anyone who resigns or is laid off now, the word we (I am an agency employee) are receiving internally is that their position will be abolished, not backfilled.
Do you like eating clean, safe food?

If so, you need to write to your senators and representatives RIGHT NOW. Trump is not obeying the rule of law. He is illegally firing all the inspectors general of these agencies (they are literally being escorted by security out of their offices) so that there is no one left to stop him from doing quite literally anything he wants. He has bypassed the internal structure of all of the agencies by plugging in external email servers to push typo-filled emails and memos written by employees of the heritage foundation directly into the inbox of every federal agency employee in the country, threatening to terminate them.
The rule of law is dead. The only mechanism left to stop any of this is mass public outcry via convincing your state's congressmen & women to do something, because right now they are staying absolutely silent and none of us in these agencies can figure out why. A massacre is happening right now and every single American will feel the material, concrete consequences of this in their daily lives very soon if nothing is done.

MCYT Couture Zine celebrates all things fashion! From the haute couture pieces that walk down the runways during fashion week to editorials that you awe after, like the recent Heatstroke editorial that took the internet by storm! Or even traditional clothing made hundreds of years ago to the impossible designs that exist in art.
There are three ways this zines can go.
ART BASED ZINE - Artists will create based off existing fashion looks, editorials, traditional clothing and art.
TRADITIONAL ZINE - Artists and writers will be working separately from each other unless they are collaborating.
FASHION HOUSE - Artists and writers will work together to create an fashion house either for a solidarity designer or a group of designers.

We are specifically looking to fill the following positions:
Editing Mod: Layout experience in a suitable software (Indesign, for example) & capable of assembling all the zine elements into the end result.
Art mod: ability to give constructive criticism and help contributors with their piece, ability to create art pieces for the zine (for example, promo art, spot illustrations within the zine, etc.)
Writing mod: ability to give constructive criticism and help contributors with their piece, ability to write for the zine (for example, social media posts, foreword& conclusion, …)
Finance Mod: Experience with print on demand, order fulfillment and/or physical zine distribution. (Added disclaimer that we aren't sure yet if we will do a physical print of the zine as well, so taking on a finance mod isn't guaranteed)
We are also very interested in having members who are knowledgeable about different CCs and sides of MCYT than the current mod team is, such as QSMP, DSMP, standalone streamers/youtubers... As it stand, mods are mostly familiar with Hermitcraft and the Life series.

In celebration of Fairytales from the SMP’s first anniversary, the FTSMP collab will be returning for a second year—a sequel, if you will!
Volume II will feature a variety of fairytales, including Beauty and the Beast, Rapunzel, The Three Musketeers, and many more. This time around, there will be 15 writer slots. 15 writers, 15 new fics, and 15 fairytales reimagined with various elements of Minecraft, fantasy, and the Dream SMP!
We also now have five roles. This year, we are bringing in two new roles: artist and backup artist! Info about each role is laid out below.
Writer:
Each writer will be assigned one fairytale of their choice.
Currently, 9 out of the 15 writer slots are filled. This means there are 6 available writer slots.
Backup writer:
If you’d like to be a writer but don’t end up receiving a writer slot, you can choose to fill the role of a backup writer. Backup writers serve as swap-ins, like understudies, for any writers who may drop or be otherwise unable to complete the collab.
Backup writers have the choice of either picking their own fairytale (so long as it isn’t already assigned to someone else) or taking on the fairytale that had been assigned to the writer who previously filled the slot.
Artist:
We will have 15 artist slots. Each artist will be paired with a writer to create a piece of artwork for their fairytale.
Currently, 15 out of the 15 artist slots are available.
Backup artist:
If you would like to be an artist but do not receive an artist slot, you may request to be a backup artist. Backup artists act as swap-ins for an artist who may not be able to complete the collab.
Backup artists will not have the choice of picking their own fairytale, as they will be given the artist slot that was opened, assigning them to the previous artist’s fairytale.
Beta reader:
Beta readers do as beta readers typically do. These are the people who will be essentially proofreading the fics, should their assistance be requested. Beta readers only read through the fics and provide edit suggestions.
Notes:
Backup writers are allowed to be beta readers as well. In a pinch, as per the rules, if there are no other beta readers available, writers may also act as beta readers for their fellow writers. However, it’s preferred that beta reading is kept strictly to the people in the beta reader role, if possible.
Backup writers and backup artists will need to be able to create within a shorter timeframe, should they be swapped in. Please do not apply for a backup position if this is not feasible for you.

Collab Rules:
1. There will be 15 fairytales maximum, each assigned to one writer and one artist. This means there will be 15 writers and 15 artists maximum. There will be no repeat fairytales.
2. Although fairytales are not repeated, ships can be (ex: both Cinderella and Rapunzel can be dnf, they just have to be written by two different writers)
3. Writers can act as beta readers for other writers. This does not change that only one writer is assigned to write one fairytale.
4. Please do try to reach out to an official beta reader before going to another writer.
5. This is a positive event. Do not write neg of or over-vilify anyone. If you can't be neutral at minimum, do not join this collab. This is meant to be a hostility/toxicity free environment.
6. Adhere to cc boundaries as much as possible while creating for this collab.
7. Do not ship Dream with Tommy, Tubbo, or Ranboo. I don't expect that anyone would, but I don't think it hurts to explicitly say it.
8. No sexual or underage content.
9. Relationships do not need to be romantic ships.
10. If you are banned from the discord server, you will be removed from the collab as well.
11. The minimum word count is 1,000 words. There is no maximum word limit. Chapter fics are allowed.
12. All fics and art should be ready to publish at least one part by the deadline week. All fics will be published in a collection to ao3 only. All artwork will be posted to tumblr using the tag #fairytalesfromthesmp. Deadline dates are July 14-July 20, 2024.
13. Fics can be set in whatever universe you want (dsmp, Minecraft the game, modern fantasy/fairytale, classic fantasy/fairytale, etc). You’re not limited in setting. Artwork must correspond to the paired fic.
14. Please keep all fic and art info within the collab and server. This rule applies to all members, especially writers, artists, beta readers, and anyone who acts as a temporary beta reader.

We're looking to accept some new members onto our moderation team, as we've recently said goodbye to some team members. Hermitzine is run by a small team of organizers who curate, manage and edit each edition from start to finish, making sure the zine process flows as smoothly as possible.
The form goes into more detail, but we’re particularly keen to bring in some writing expertise, participant communication and social media focused team members.
We’re after people who are enthusiastic about zines and ideally have some experience with either mass collaboration and/or being a mod/organizer.

Flamekeeper, a c!Niki zine currently at contributor apps, will be divided into three sections, each containing art and writing aligning with the section's overarching theme. The first of these is hearth.

The hearth is a heart of a home - the fire that provides warmth, safety, and food for her family. Though the hearth is a controlled blaze, she tends and is tended to with love and care by those around her.
This section will center warm flames aligned with the home and the hearth; you might see Niki baking, read about her sharing a quiet moment with those she loves, or find a poem about what being the "hearthkeeper" means to her.
