These two were so gentle, so kind, of course they would remain caring about her, they would remain being friends. They had to be the least of her worries, though her insecurities came out. Maybeit was because she was truly terrified of losing Magnum. Truly terrified didnโt even cut it. She was downright panicked.

Or maybe not. She didnโt even understand herself. She just knew she was very, very grateful for Danny to be there for her and her friend. And for his team to do the same. He was probably true. Hip and lung surgery always took a long time, they should get comfortable. Juliet looked aroound again as he offered for Lou or Tani to bethe ones to offer hugs, but as he had pointed out, she had theboys. She had two men, who would probably hold her until Thomas was out of surgery, no matter the outcome and way longer.ย โI think I have two of those good huggers myselfโฆbut yeah, food and drink sounds like what we need and maybe, if I dare ask it, a change of clothes? I think once Rick and TC catch up to the fact that they are still covered in blood, they will need a change desperately.โ Any clothing would do, really. She knew they wouldnโt be picky in the slightest.
โLetโsโฆ. sit down with everyone.โ As she turned around, she all but froze in her track as it hit her like she hit a brick wall. It was one single feeling and a single realization. She had feelings for Thomas. Shit. Shit, that was unplanned. That was really, really not part of her plan at all. She couldnโt have feelings for Magnum. She reached for Dannyโs hand again, turned to have her back turned to Rick and TC.ย โDannyโฆwhatโฆ.what if I have feelings for him?โ
danny, in many ways, could relate to juliet always worrying about magnum. he was just like that with steve, even more so since steve was prone to doing really dumb and life threatening things, the situation they got themselves in included. though perhaps both him and magnum would have been just fine if there wasn't for junior's downright rookie mistake and blatant disobedience in following orders from everybody who outranked him ------- in that case, everybody. one would think that in a group of former SEALs and marines, there would still be at least some form or hierarchy, even if not on active duty anymore. the detective made a mental note to sit down with junior once the guys would be out of immediate danger and set a thing or two straight with him. though it was a matter for another day. right now magnum and steve would be the main focus, as well as taking care of rick, TC and juliet, who seemed to be very distraught by the whole situation, which he couldn't exactly blame her about.
a short call to lou to see if he could get some clothes for the guys later, and danny gave juliet a small smile.
โ at least your SEAL doesn't go jump off tunnels onto trucks on a busy highway. and he doesn't really serve you with a heart attack when he calls in he was attacked and there's blood all over the kitchen, but he plays it cool while he sits in the armchair, gun in hand and pretends as if nothing happened at all. โ and that barely even scratched the surface. there was the liver transplant, the radiation poisoning, PTS that steve downright refused to acknowledge, though danny knew it was there. there was a substantial list of things that ailed steve, and it was ever growing. maybe this would finally make him realize that he wasn't in his prime anymore ------- neither was danny, while at it --------- or it would be just another thing danny would mentally have to add to the list to rub it under his nose later on. with steve, it could really go both ways, though he did hope for a more positive outcome of the two.
as juliet stopped him on their way to rick and TC, he gave her a confused look that only turned into a soft smile once she revealed what it was all about. โ i'll just be that guy and ask if it really took you this long to realize that? โ the detective chuckled softly. โ that's--- that's really good, actually! there's nothing wrong with that at all. โ obviously had had noticed the puppy eyes thomas had for juliet whenever she was talking or just doing things. danny at that point had been convinced that he felt just the same about her, though that was on magnum to say, not him throwing out speculations of his own that might not come true. โ are you scared about how it--- it might affect your partnership with him? โ
