Barou Shoei who is single-minded and 100% devoted to achieve his goals (similar to his father to a fault in terms of personality) but the moment he gets into a relationship (which takes a lot of time) he is determined to not become like his father.

(From what I can interpret from his LN) He grew up watching and helping his mother doing all the work around the house, even looking after both his sisters since their birth while his father worked all the way in Tokyo, only visiting home once a month. Basically Barou was the only man in their family until his father transferred his job back to Akita due to his health issues.

In Barou's eyes, his old man only settles down and makes time for their family in an effort to avoid facing the fact that he failed on his way to the top.

Not that he holds a grudge, but after witnessing his mother who'd stayed in his father's shadow for years without a complain, he's definitely set his heart on two things: becoming the best striker (not failing like his father) and treating his beloved the way you deserve.

He's a King, so he'll treat you like royalty, not necessarily showing all his love through sappy words but definitely through actions. Never once would he make you feel like you aren't a priority. And never once would he miss a date or a disappear without a word. This man has disciplines and principles, also a really big ego which won't allow him to wrong you. He doesn't half-ass anything. He won't settle for being anything but the best on a field as well as in a relationship. You may have a few arguments here and there, but he'll do his best to balance between soccer and you like it was the biggest purpose in his life.
