I have something to say.

We have "the secretary" as the fandom knows her (aka Her or The Man to many potential enjoyers of this post), who, considering the amount of times gerard dressed as her, could quite possibly be read as some form or representation of gerard's relationship with femininity, reaching for the dagger, which could be read as a phallus, to take it away from G's character, and G's character pulling away and holding it out of Her reach.

Because when he has the phallus dagger he is powerful, so of course he's going to hold onto that in a word in which he is otherwise powerless. When their mannerisms and sincerity and the person they are is worthless, a joke drowned out by laugh tracks and hidden behind spectacle and performance, of course they're gonna hold onto any power they can get.

And so he won't let her take it away, because to take the dagger would be to take the comfort and safety of the phallus, of being the dangerous masculine power, and of being the one who penetrates rather than being penetrated.

And perhaps he enjoys this power too much, perhaps as he holds it out of her reach he is blinded by not only the power of the dagger but the theatre of this masculine gender, twirling around brandishing it and overembelishing it, to the point that it becomes overperformed, to the point that this masculine phallus-wielding persona feels more like drag (draag!) than any feminine look gerard has done.

And she wins anyway. Shes stronger than him and is able to take the dagger away and hide it. Sure she has to fight to take it from him but she wins and removes the ability to continue the performance, hides it away and treats the power of possessing the dagger as a practical tool, becoming subversive and subtle rather than theatrical.

Really what im saying is that my chemical romance can be about transgenderism and theatre and penetration and sexual dynamics and identity and psychoanalysis and of course The Phallus. If you're pure of heart.
