The Sims 4 Custom Content - Chapter 02

Wedding Collection by laupipi

This artist primarily creates custom content fashion pieces for The Sims 3 and The Sims 4. While this collection focuses on Wedding Dresses, laupipi has also created a wide range of dresses from a Summer and Spring Collection, to the Golden Globes 2020 Collection. All of these dresses are modern, have great detail, and are so beautiful. My personal favourite is Oihana, worn below by model Vixen Angel.

Life Stages in TS4

‘Life Stage’ is The Sims equivalent to age/aging.

The Sims

Ageing as we know it in The Sims did not commence until The Sims 2. In the original game The Sims, there are three life stages:

Baby

Child

Adult

However, children do not organically age-up into Adults, and there are no Elders (although you can somewhat adjust an Adult Sim to look older).

The Sims 2

The Sims 2 has seven life stages:

Baby

Toddler

Child

Teen

Young Adult

Adult

Elder

Teen lifespans are 15 days, however they can grow up early in order to go to college. In The Sims 2, the Young Adult lifespan is reserved for those living in the college sub-neighborhood during University. Elder lifespans vary from 9-31 days, most commonly 10 days, depending on aspiration levels and a random element.

Plant Sims have only three life stages:

Options to Prolong Life Spans

The Sims Makin’ Magic expansion allows magical children to grow up using the Age of Instant charm.

Grow Up - If a Sim has one day left before aging, click on Sim and choose the ‘Grow up’ action. NOTE: Babies require the assistance of an older Sim to become a toddler.

Birthday Party & Cake - If a Sim has one day left before aging, throw a birthday party, buy birthday cake, and blow candles.

Elixir of Life (Reward Object) - If successful, this can prolong life by 3 days. If unsuccessful, this can shorten life by 3 days.

Cow Plant - Drinking from the Cow Plant will prolong a Sims life for five days. 

‘Give Me A Long Life’ wish - If successful, this can prolong life by 4 days.

Occults - in The Sims characters can become zombies or vampires, which can stop them from aging.

In The Sims https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/The_Sims_Wiki states there are third-party programs which can grow a child into an adult, but these are not listed.

Aging Off - Ctrl+Shift+C, type Aging off, press Enter.

Comparisons

The graph below shows the average/medium/normal life spans in The Sims*, The Sims 2, The Sims 3**, and The Sims 4**.

The Sims data is not able to be compared accurately due to the type of in-game ‘ageing’ as such, therefore the data indicated in graph below is simply an average of the other 3 data sets.

The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 have different options for life spans, e.g. Short, or Long, therefore for the purposes on graph below, the data has been taken from The Sims 3 Medium Lifespan and The Sims 4 Normal Lifespan.

The Sims 3 has a shorter ‘Short’ lifespan than The Sims 4, while The Sims 4 ‘Long’ lifespan sits in between the length of The Sims 3 ‘Long’ lifespan and The Sims 3 ‘Epic’ lifespan.

The Dolans - Chapter 03

Introduction of Robi Dolan

Descendant of the Keeley and Nani tribes, Robi is a merman with olive skin, jet black hair, red/purple eyes, and a red tail. 

He currently works as an Assistant Dishwasher, earning $15/hour. Robi’s only relationship is with his spouse Kelly Dolan, whom he thinks is extremely attractive. They are sweethearts, the foundation of a strong friendship has forged a lasting love. Robi has no skills, and is part of no organisations or clubs.

Master Chef - This Sim wants to master the culinary arts!

Sims with the Essence of Flavor make higher quality food and drink.

Sagittarius, the ninth sign of the zodiac, is the home of the wanderers of the zodiac. It’s not a mindless ramble for these folks, either. Sagittarians are truth-seekers, and the best way for them to do this is to hit the road, talk to others and get some answers. Knowledge is key to these folks, since it fuels their broad-minded approach to life. Those born with a Sagittarius zodiac sign are keenly interested in philosophy and religion, and the find that these disciplines aid their internal quest. At the end of the day, what Sagittarius wants most is to know the meaning of life, and to accomplish this while feeling free and easy.

Singer - These Sims enjoy singing, being around other singes, and get upset if they don’t sing for a while. They also inspire others with the passion in their voice!

Sims with the Angler trait want nothing more than to spend all their free time outside fishing or otherwise cooking with their fresh-caught fish. These Sims also gain the Fishing Skill faster than others. While some see the benefit in selling their fish, most anglers go fishing to have fun and often feel even more accomplished after mounting their best catches for all to see.

The Angels - Chapter 08

Introduction of Vi Angel

Vi is one of five adopted daughters of Raymond and Richard Angel, she is the embodiment of a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She is of Chinese origin, with wavy black hair, brown eyes, and light skin.

Vi wants to be the leader of the best Club in town! She builds friendly relationships faster.

Vi can’t wait to get down, boogie, and party all night!! When at venues like Bars, Nightclubs, and Lounges, she can get a burst of energy with the party Time interaction. Dance Machines like Vi also receive a happy moodlet when arriving at social venues. She is a slob, is not affected by dirty surroundings, and makes household items dirtier faster.

Vi is a Scorpio - this is the eighth sign of the zodiac, and that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Those born under this sign are dead serious in their mission to learn about others. There’s no fluff or chatter for Scorpios like Vi, these folks will zero in on the essential questions, gleaning the secrets that lie within. She concerns herself with beginnings and endings, and is unafraid of either. Scorpios also travel in a world that is black and white and has little use for grey. The curiosity of Scorpios is immeasurable, which may be why Vi is such an adept investigator. She loves to probe and knows how to get to the bottom of things. The fact that she has a keen sense of intuition certainly helps.

The Mortenson’s - Chapter 03

Introduction of Iman Mortenson

Iman is a vampire, descendant of the House of Hangam, which is roughly the vampire equivalent of someone originating from Asia, with grey skin, black eyes, and black hair. Iman’s only relationship is with his spouse Kendra Mortenson. He has no skills, and is part of no organisations or clubs.

Iman wants to take it slow and enjoy beach life, and becomes Happy when he is in his home neighborhood.

Iman is a Scholar, i.e. he loves to read, and is naturally adept at gaining the most out of a reading session. As a result, he gains skills much faster from reading books than other Sims, and he can become upset if he has not read a book in awhile. Iman is paranoid, he feels that danger is around every corner, and that people are always talking about him. Paranoid Sims feel a sense of security while hanging out in basements.

Iman is a Virgo. Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac, to be exact, and that’s the way Virgos like it: exacting. Those born under this horoscope sign are forever the butt of jokes for being so picky and critical (and they can be), but their ‘attention to detail’ is for a reason: to help others. Virgos, more than any other zodiac sign, were born to serve, and it gives them great joy. They are also tailor-made for the job, since common Virgo traits are being industrious, methodical, and efficient. The sense of duty borne by these folks is considerable, and it ensures that they will always work for the greater good.

The Angels - Chapter 07

Introduction of Vicky Angel

Vicky is one of five adopted daughters of Raymond and Richard Angel, and is based on the idea of a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She is of Central American origin, with straight brown hair, brown eyes, and olive skin.

World-Famous Celebrity - Vicky wants to become illustriously famous. She is career-minded, these sims get a leg-up in their chosen profession with performance boosts that help them get promoted faster.

Vicky loves outdoors, can enthuse about nature to other sims and becomes happy when outdoors.

Pheromonal Flower - There’s something strange about her makeup that’s strange. Vicky is obsessed with everything erotic, and her body produces a barely visible pollen which surrounds her wherever she goes creating a sort of scent, but not one that smells. Not like a fragrance would. It’s an aroma producing a warmth in those nearby. Starting deep in the nostrils, moving down the spin, and spreading through..everywhere.

Vicky is a Capricorn. She is thoughtful and ambitious. This sign is governed by the austere Saturn, planet of destiny. The cardinal nature of this earth sign makes Vicky a responsible person who can be demanding and play a dominant role in a group. She needs to cheer up from time to time and to avoid taking herself too seriously. When she relaxes, she knows how to have fun. Those who know her appreciate her practical sense and pragmatic attitude.

Fabulously Wealthy - This Sim wants to get rich and have a successful career! Her first goal is to have earned $5,000.

Business Savvy Sims earn more than the standard rate from careers.

Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac, and those born under this sign will be quick to tell you all about it. That’s because they love to talk! It’s not just idle chatter with these folks, either. The driving force behind a Gemini zodiac sign’s conversation is their mind. Ruling the third house the Gemini-born are intellectually inclined, forever probing people and places in search of information. The more information a Gemini collects, the better. Sharing that information late on with those they love is also a lot of fun, for Geminis are supremely interested in developing their relationships. Tori is one of five adopted daughters of Raymond and Richard Angel, and is modeled off of the idea of a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She is of Scottish origin, with wavy red hair, light skin, and hazel eyes.

Party Animal - Tori wants to throw and attend amazing parties! She is gregarious and builds friendly relationships faster.

An over emotional sim, such as Tori, experiences most emotions to the extreme. When happy, they are overjoyed; but they can be inconsolable when sad. 

Some Sims just love the night life! Night Owls love to stay up late at night and rock it out until the early hours, but don’t expect them to get up too early in the morning.

Brad is an alien, descendant from both planets Neptune and Mars, which are the alien equivalent of Africa and Albino respectively. Planet Neptune is named after the Roman god of the sea. Planet Mars carries the name of the Roman god of war, and is often referred to as the ‘Red Planet’.

Master Actor - Brad wants to hone their craft and become an acclaimed actor!

Musers get better boosts to their skills when they’re inspired.

The celebrity spotlight is something they generally relish. After all, everyone else should love them as much as they do themselves, right?

Introduction of Ria Angel

Ria is one of five adopted daughters of Raymond and Richard Angel. She is of Northern European origin, with light skin, blonde wavy hair, and grey eyes.

Joke Star - Ria wants to tell jokes and become a famous comedian! She is gregarious, building friendly relationships faster.

Some Sims, like Ria, just love the night life! Night Owls love to stay up late at night and rock it out until the early hours, but don’t expect them to get up too early in the morning.

Hot-Headed - Ria tends to be Angry, can Rile up other Sims, and becomes Angry when targeted with Mischief.

Introduction of Vixen Angel

Vixen is one of five adopted daughters of Raymond and Richard Angel, is the embodiment of a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She is of African origin, with black afro-textured hair, black eyes, and dark skin.

Vixen wants to make and keep as many friends as she can! She is gregarious, and builds friendly relationships faster. 

Vixen is a bookworm, gaining powerful Moodlets from analysing Books and she can Discuss Books in unique ways. 

She loves to be near dogs, and will gain relationships faster with dogs and socialise with dogs more than the average Sim.

Governed by the austere Saturn, planet of destiny, Capricorn’s such as Vixen are thoughtful and ambitious. The cardinal nature of this earth sign makes Vixen a responsible person who can be demanding and play a dominant role in a group. The Crenshaws - Chapter 01

Introduction of Herman Crenshaw

Herman Crenshaw is a descendant of the Pendle Coven, roughly based on Central Europe. He has light skin, piercing bright eyes, and wavy blonde hair.

Spellcraft & Sorcery - This Sim craves a deep knowledge of the arcane magical arts.

Quick Learners build all skills a little bit faster!

Socially Anxious - Sims with Social Anxiety will often become uncomfortable in social situations, they do not receive negative Moodlets when their Social Need is low. They may experience panic attacks and stomach trouble resulting in frequent bathroom trips, especially while out in public. Therefore, they prefer to stay home.

Lazy - These Sims gain powerful Moodlets from Watching TV or Napping as well as from Comfortable furniture, become Fatigued more quickly from exercise, and grow Tense when performing household chores.

Slob - These Sims are not affected by dirty surroundings and make household items dirtier faster.

The Angels - Chapter 03

Introduction of Richard Angel

Richard Angel is a character based on Richard A. Dent III, former chief officer at Victoria’s Secret. Richard, husband Raymond, and their 5 model daughters, are essentially an amalgamation of the founding fathers of the brand, and the Victoria’s Secret Angels who model the brand.

Fabulously Wealthy - Richard wants to get rich and have a successful career! Business Savvy Sims earn more than the standard rate from careers.

Straight Edge - these Sims refrain from using alcohol and other recreational/non-prescribed drugs (cannabis, LSD, cocaine, etc.)

Social Media Addicted - Photography, Videos, Social Media... All of them are really easy to handle for Richard. He is pretty good at it and loves to talk about his passion.
