GIZMO WEBBY GIZMO WEBBY- (rough mini doodle comic based off of @duckduxgoose 's gizmo duck webby design :3)
I had to doodle this because it's the FIRST thing that went to my head when I saw your design sksksksk I love it so so much
AAAAAAA I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEE!!!!! AND YOUR STYLE IS PEAK MWA
I think in the 1987 universe webby would make sense as the next one to take on the gizmo duck mantle, but nobody is ready for that conversation yet

I can finally post my art for the @duck-zine ! There's other art pieces too, but those will go into a separate post.
Millicent van Gilt-Mouse / Madeline Mouse - “Love Trouble” - 1941
Ever since I can remember I’ve owned this booklet with one of the rare Dutch prints of “love Trouble” inside. It’s one of the last MM comics Gottfredson wrote the plot for and although I have a childhood fondness for the story it’s probably for the best he stopped writing because “Love Trouble” suuuuuhuhuhuuuucks! It’s a horrible story about horrible people of which the horrible “villain” somehow is the least horrible.
The saving grace of graces is Millicent van Gilt-Mouse, who at the end of the story is revealed to be Madeline Mouse, Mickey’s cousin. Horribleness of everyone aside, she’s lovely and cute and it’s bullshit no one has given her another story yet.
Something I of course didn’t know until only a few years ago is that Madeline is supposed to be a blonde. I always thought she was a brown girl. The line about her being a blonde does not exist in the Dutch version (it instead talks of how refined she looks) and the coloring doesn’t communicate it. I really don’t care for it either; as far as I’m concerned, she’s brown.
(For context, Madeline in the Dutch version actually looks a lot like how Gottfredson imagined her based on the comic’s painting, being only a smidge darker. “Blonde” is communicated with full (light) brown fur, although a lot of color reprints (the original comic was in greyscale) choose to go with a white face + yellow body (early reprints; looks horrible) or a white face + beige body (semi-modern reprints; looks decent). Others that have this are Phylline from The Monarch of Medioka and Mousetta from “A Lad ‘n’ His Lamp”.)
She has appeared at least in one story after that, “A Family Affair” (D 2009-096). In my opinion the comic was rather bland, but it was nice to see her again.
The summary: Mickey finds out his cousin has been kidnapped and rushes to help with the investigation, but her parents aren’t all that impressed and want just to pay the ransom. Mickey finds out who did it, but not before the money has already changed hands and Madeline been released. Confronting the true culprit ends up making Mickey the suspect, but Madeline busts him out of the jail and together they gather the evidence to proof who the real kidnapper is.
Saw these guys hanging out with that spikey haired kid who harasses Elsa with keys.
Don't trust them.
